I am planning a surprise trip next October (2013) for the Food and Wine Festival and my DH's 35th birthday. I know we will stay at two resorts; a moderate or value for the first half and then to the Yacht Club for the days we will spend at Epcot. I am highly considering a dining plan, not sure of which one yet, and during my planning, I thought about the refillable mug. If we check-in at Pop Century (for example) and get a mug from them, will I be allowed to use it at the Yacht Club? Or, would we get new ones? I have never had a refillable mug so I am totally new to this concept.

If you are using a dining plan, then you will get a set of mugs when you check into POP and when you check into Yacht Club, assuming that you have the dining plan for both reservations

I would think you would only get one set, because when you swipe your card it only says 1 free mug, although with a split stay it's hard to say.

Not hard to say at all. We may call them split stays but to Disney they are just two separate reservations and each stands on it's own, with it's own entitlements. They will get a set of mugs for their Pop stay then another set of mugs will be on their new room keys when they check into the YC.

AP holders do not have to buy park tickets in order to add the DDPs to their reservations, so I have done mutliple split stays and have added the DxDP (which has always included a mug) to both. I've always received a mug for my first stay, then another mug for the second stay. You get all the individual entitlements for each stay when you check in for each stay.

Offtopic, but OP: just make sure you use all the meal and snack entitlements from that first stay by midnight of the day you check out of your first resort. Also if you plan on dining at a signature restaurant that night, make sure you don't have just one credit left from that first stay. They will not let you combine a meal credit from the first stay with one from the second stay to pay for your meal. I found that out the hard way.:rolleyes1
