Refillable Mug Question

I started this thread to obtain information for those of us who collect the mugs not as an aid to those who want to skirt the rules.

The writing on the new mugs states that they can be refilled at the resort beverage IslandS - no mention at all that you can only refill it at the resort you're staying at. So no one will be breaking the mug rules anymore.

If that is true, then how would the resorts be able to distinguish one that was bought at their resort and one that was bought at another resort?

Because all the YOAMD mugs are the same, guests can use them at all the Resorts while at WDW. WDW is not stupid and they must have seen some guests using Polynesian mugs at the Grand Floridian, so by making all the mugs the same there are now no more problems when guests use their mugs at other Resorts.

anyone have a picture they can post????

does this also include the water parks? Could I purchase one at my resort than use it at TL or BB? If so, they would finally be worth it for us.

you can buy a refillable mug at the water parks though

Standardizing the mugs between resorts, and including the year on the mug, implies Disney doesn't care if guests use their mugs in other resorts (split stay) but doesn't want guests bringing mugs
back in future years.

A previous poster asked about the water parks. Disney offers a refillable mug for the water parks BUT the mug has a bar code and the drink dispensers have a bar code reader. I believe guests who bring the mug back can purchase a new sticker at a discount.

NO NOT THAT QUESTION

I read that the resorts are no longer selling mugs with their logo on them. All the resorts are selling the same mug that has the year on it.

Tell me this isn't true

We have an extensive collection of mugs from all the resorts we have stayed at over the years and looked forward to continuing this tradition.:sad1:

I was really bummed when I had read similar comments here. I can not speak for everyone... but we just returned from a week at CSR and were able to get a reort-specific mug. :thumbsup2

Is there any sort of Refillable mug to use in the parks?

AK has a refillable sports bottle but you have to pay for refill (and it's got to be the ugliest and bulkiest bottle ever invented).
