refillable mug question if get DP but then switch resorts

I figured the refillable mug would still be good for up to 14 days even if we had the DP and then switched resorts part way through our stay. Can anyone confirm this works? The disney dining brochure I'm seeing online says that "all unused meals and snacks and the ability to use your refillable mug expire at midnight on your package reservation checkout date". Is this true?

The mugs are activated from 14-21 days (I've seen varying reports) and can be used at any resort. They are not activated based on length-of-stay, likely for Disney's convenience, even knowing a small subset of guests will get unintended use out of it.
