Refillabe Mugs?

Now that's some smart thinking!!!

:)

Knox

Thanks. I try to have a good idea every now and again. In the past I've saved about $40 using this method. I figured 2 roughly 12oz mugs and 1 roughly 24oz cup of soda

I guess you could think of it as refilling your mug at the parks for $1.20. haha.

I saw lots of people carrying mugs on the busses to the parks, so I asked - they said no, but they like to drink coffee on the way to the park, and then they have their empty mug to use on the way from the bus to their resort room (duh me, I always had to walk to my room get my mug, walk back to the food court!!)

(and I hate the smell of coffee so we designate one mug for dh coffee only - write it w/ a sharpie!)

also for the pop sharers - also you can get your large pop with NO ice as the machines dispense cold pop -

For the way this thread is polite, respectful and good information. Many times by 8th or 9th post I need to lock thread.Because folks are calling each other names and in general being nasty to other posters.I hope this post does not jinx post,I really am proud of you all.Out of last 10 threads on this subject I have had to lock 9.You guys and gals rock, keep it up. Thank You Danny

That is a good idea, I'll have to remember to bring a sharpie with me on this trip.

I also ask for no (or little) ice. I don't like getting all that ice with so little soda.

i will probably be purchasing the mugs as my mom and grandma like to drink a lot of coffee and i like the idea with the sharpie as i dont drink coffee at all and wouldnt want to get it mixed up

Technically the saying on the new mugs is "Good for lenght of stay at our Resort Beverage Island Stations." So they do not say anything about them only being good at the Resort you purchased them at, because that was on the Resort logo mugs.

The "good for length of stay at OUR resort beverage island stations"

The "OUR" is meant for whatever resort you are at.....
ie if you bought at poly....then any of our beverage stations.....means
at the poly.

When people say welcome to our home.....trust me it just means theirs....
not everyone elses...."our resort beverage island" is not the entire
WDW beverage island locations....

Convenient way to interpret it though....

Since it is barely all I can do to carry myself through the parks I cannot carry mugs too.

What I do when we are thirsty for something other than water is buy a large drink, with no or little ice and a cup of water (free). I drink the water (since I am the big drinker in my family) and then pour part of the other drink in the empty cup.

Luckily for me I really like water a lot though. :thumbsup2

Double post... sorry, listening to the DIS Podcast and got distracted...

We LOVED the three different colored handle versions! We color coded (one color for each of us, I got blue because it is my favorite color)! :thumbsup2 Now... if there are more than three in your party the Sharpie is a must!

I imagine that WDW did the "across the board mug" for economical reasons... there is only one design to have designed and mass production of that single design... that has to be a lot cheaper than the old way (each having their own)!

My best friend is teasing me cause I am really excited that we get the mug for free with the deluxe dining plan in 2008. She's like "we're spending all this money and you're excited about a MUG" I'll buy you the $13 mug (she's really excited, just likes teasing me LOL)

The Sharpies also work well to mark which mug is yours, if there are more than 3 people in your party. We've done that many times. :)

I would be excited too. :lmao:

Okay excuse me for being slow here. It seems as if when you say that you can only use the mug at the resort you are staying at, it is aimed toward people who are just visiting from another resort. (hope that makes sense) What I am wondering is what if you are staying at 2 different resorts during your stay. We will be at WLV first then BCV. Will we need to buy a mug at each resort?:confused3

You can buy a mug at WLV and then use it at BCV on the same trip. No problem. :thumbsup2

Remember the good old days when you would have been lambasted for saying that :rotfl: At least some good has come from the YOAMD mugs!
