If i was to buy a refillabe mug at POP, would i be able to refill it at any WDW resort for example AKL? and am i able to refill it at the theme parks?

You can not refill them in the parks.
All the refillable mugs are the same this year so I do not see why you could not refill them in a resort other than your own. It use to be that each resort had its own mug, but now the theme for all the resorts is "Where Dreams come true".
They can be re-filled in the food courts but not the sit down restaurants.

The only Resorts where the YOAMD mugs can not be used at is the Contemporary because the Food & Fun Center is closed and the temporary counter service location does not have a drink machine, so they are not selling any refillable mugs. Once Chef Mickey's Express opens which would be their new counter service location, then they would once again start selling mugs there.

The other Resort is Corondao Springs because the food locations there are not owned by WDW, so they because of that guests can only use the Coronado Springs mug. So they are the only Resort not to sell the YOAMD mugs.

Like a PP said you can not refill the mugs in the parks. And the design of the mugs is no longer resort specific (I miss that) but there are signs on the drink machines that say that the mugs are valid for free refills during the length of your stay at the resort in which it was purchased.

Technically the saying on the new mugs is "Good for lenght of stay at our Resort Beverage Island Stations." So they do not say anything about them only being good at the Resort you purchased them at, because that was on the Resort logo mugs.

Technically the sign on the soda machine says that the mugs are refillable during length of stay and only at the resort in which it was purchased. We saw a sign with that verbage at WL just last month. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it since there is always a lot of discussion about this.

Well obviously the rules have changed since that is not what is written on the mugs. Besides since all the Resorts are selling the same ones no one can tell where they were purchased so it seems to WDW is now letting guests use these mugs at other Resorts. As for the sign on the machine my guess is WDW has not got around to changing it, or they might not do that since the new rule is stated on the mugs.

Are the new mugs the shape that will fit into a car cup holder? Wider at the top but then more narrow at the bottom. What is the price this year? Thanks!

The cost of the mugs is now $12.49 before tax (this picture was taken before the price change) and here is a picture of them from Allearsnet.com and I think they are the way you described them.

Yes! Thank-you that is what I hoped for! I am going to ask my DD to bring one home for me as a treat! I like to make my own coffee in the am for work :teacher: and it needs to fit in the car cup holder. I have a Disney Cruise line one now and while I love it the seal has broken and water gets into it when I wash it!

I sometimes use the refill mugs at the parks to help save some money. Instead of buying 2 small drinks at $2.09 a piece, I buy one large drink at $2.39 and divide the contents between two refill mugs. This way i'm saving about $2 and each person can still have their own cup to drink from.

Now that's some smart thinking!!!

When I briefly read the first line of your post I was about to get out the Popcorn munching icon! popcorn:: But, that is a good idea!

What you wrote is the reason why I think the refillable mugs are such a great deal! Not only can you get refills for the length of your stay, you have a wonderful mug to use at home and remember your wonderful vacation! I've worn out two mugs at work already! LOL! :)

Yep, I guess since they are going into the second year of the YOAMD, that started in Oct. '06, they haven't found the time in thirteen months to change the signs. You are right that since all of the mugs are generic mugs there is no way for a CM at WL to know that a guest refilling a mug is or is not staying at WL. I don't really think that there is a "set in stone" rule since WDW has conflicting rules up on the mugs and on the signs (or at least roo much grey area for personal interpretation). But I did find this on AllEarsNet.com - http://allearsnet.com/din/mugs.htm

I just wish they'd bring back the resort specific mugs which make for much cuter and memorable souvies.

Me too! I miss those. I like using them at home & remembering that specific trip.
