Referrals

HI there: I'm back. Just wondering in terms of referring someone to DVC, is there any reward/incentive, etc?? We are still very new.(Haven't even received the new contracts for the increase to the points we selected and then decided were not enough)

You get disney dollars that can be used for dues if you wish. That is only if your referal buys.

After you have closed and your deed has been recorded you will get a package with postcards to hand out and a form to fill out and mail in for MS to know who to call and pester. If you live in NJ you must hand out the post card and are not allowed to give material representations regarding DVC when you give your friends the cards.

Your choices for applying the rewards are Disney Dollars, credit on annual dues, credit towards an addon, or donation to the red cross or give kids the world.

The first person who buys in the same calendar year you get:
$200, the second $350, the third $500, the fourth $750 and the fifth $1000. The sixth wraps back to only $200.

The plan is only allowed in 25 states and Puerto Rico. You don't get the money until the persons deed records

We referred two people (who bought in) while Ohio still did not allow incentives. We have since referred more. One recently bought in and today we received our certificate. We're redeeming it for $200 Disney dollars. Woo Hoo!!

In Connecticut you are not allowed to collect any rewards for referrals, I don't know about NJ.

We are from Ohio and the state has once again managed to do us wrong. Friends looked at DVC last year (April '02) and used our name as reference. The state of Ohio started allowing gifts for this sort of thing starting in January '03. And since the referral was in the year before Ohio allowed these things, we do not get anything.

I am not upset with Disney but very upset with Ohio. When we first purchased DVC Ohio was allowing these kinds of payments. Then they stopped it. And now it started again.

Even our sales guide said I would not like the answer when I called him to inquire about the friends who purchased. And he was right.

$200 would have been nice, as we are arriving at OKW on 6/10. (Can't wait!)
