DH and I took my mom to the meeting with Randy Cook so that she could be our voice of reason. We knew we would love DVC, and she was SUPPOSED to talk us out of it! Well, we purchased that day and she couldn't think of a reason why we shouldn't! Randy is an awesome guide and DVC has been great for us! We've done one trip to WDW and one to Virgina Beach to attend a wedding. Going back home to SSR for our anniversary trip in January. There has been some clarification recently that there are two separate offers going with a current member's referral. You can choose to have an additional $6-$8 off the per-point price (depending on the size of new contract you decide to purchase) OR a complimentary cruise, but not both. Either offer is on top of the "base" deal going on (no referral necessary) - $13 off at AKV, $5 off at BLT and $16 off at VGC.

Good luck with your decision... we haven't once regretted ours!

We have been members for over 15 years and have used our points in a number of different ways. 2 trips to London England, 4 Disney cruises, 4 trips to Disneyland, 2 visits to Vero and numerous visits to WDW in stayed in all the DVC resorts. We have a great guide who has been with DVC from the beginning of time and is very knowledgeable about the DVC product, is very low key and easy to work with.

I go to WDW 2-3 times a year and I love it!!! My guide is Byron and I think he is great! He was very honest with me when I was interested in buying and even cautioned me to buy with lower points at first to see how things went....and then I added another 130 pts....lol!

Current DVC Incentives.....

The base price for all four properties is $112 per point. With no member referral there is a $5. discount per pt.
There has been no incentive end date announced yet.
Here is a list of the (member referral) per-point discounts being offered by resort and purchase level:

New Member Purchase with member referral (can't line them up right ..so I bolded them)
BLT AKV SSR GC
Pts. 160-199 $11 $19 $19 $22
200+ $13 $21 $21 $24

A member referral will "still" get you the additional $$ discount or a cruise (as the previous incentive indicated)


BTW...I had a friend purchase last Friday and he got the extra $$ discount + 2008 points @ the AKV.

160 pts. BLT with a member referral is $11.00 discount..and if you buy 200 pts. it is a $13.00 discount.
160 pts. AKV/SSR is a $19.00 discount..... and if you buy 200 pts. it is a $21.00 discount.

Keep doing your homework until you are comfortable/knowledgable about the basic program ...Don't rush into DVC.....
