We recieved a letter in the mail that we had recieved a reward for being used as a referral.It said we could redeem either online or by mail. When I went to the members web site and to the sharing the magic section it said we had no referral to redeem at this time. Has anyone been able to redeem their reward online? I waited a couple of days and then just went ahead and mailed it back. I was just wondering if I was the only one having issues doing this.Thanks in advance for your help.:confused3
 
I have done it online but I am wondering if there is a problem right now.

I have been told by my guide that I should have one there (have not received the official letter yet, he said that should be coming too) but it is not showing up.
 
It seems as if they are really behind or have just stopped doing this all together.Really stinks that it can not be used.

Do you mean that it can be used on the website? Because you said your letter offered to do it by mail, which you did, correct?

I did do a few referral things last year on the website last year, but recall reading sometime in the last 6 months or so that the online thing wasn't working - maybe I even saw a notice on the website (that would be shocking, though!). I haven't had any referrals recently.
 

We had a situation in the past where the referral didn't show up online because the log-in for the member website is under my name -- but the referral was actually issued under my husband's name. So you might want to ask your guide who the reward was listed under.
 
We have had the same problem. After a few months they will mail you something that you can mail in so that you get your reward.

Correct it did say we could do it by either method.Which I did do the mail submission after the member site did not allow me to do it. I just wanted to use the website to take the USPS out of the mix. Just could not figure out why it was not working.

That may be exactly what the issue is.The referral came in my husbands name but the log onto the member site is in mine. That would make sense.
 
I'm still waiting for our gift card which I redeemed on-line 9/23/09. Doesn't look like I'll get to use it for our trip next week.
 
ACDSNY, That is what I am wondering about too. We go the first of January and the letter said it could take up to 45 days so that will be pushing it for us. Hopefully we both will get to have some fun on Disney.:banana:

Yay, I came home to a FedEx notice so it looks like it made after all. I hope yours comes in time!
 
I swear getting this reward is like pulling teeth. I received my letter back in May or June and I have yet to receive my gift card. After calling my guide several times with no luck, I then called a DVC CM who then transferred me to the lady in charge who I left messages with twice and never received a call back I finally recieved my letter last week asking me which reward I would like.

Seriously??? This shouldn't be so hard.

I'm so sorry for the problems you're having! In our case, I got an email with the subject line "Your Sharing the Magic Reward is here". That was on Sept 4, and the same day I went through the process online, redeemed it. We left on our trip on 10/10, and the GC had arrived the week before that (whew!). We had gotten our brains to accept that it would NOT arrive for our trip, so it was lovely that it did.

I just hate that it's been such a problem for others!
 
Our initial trouble started with their guide gave the buyers the referral discount pricing, but did not put our names in as the referring members.

I had to get an email from the person we referred stating yes we referred them before DVC would accept it.

Over the years we've referred several people, but we've never received any acknowledgement.

Way too many hoopes to jump through.

I know. My guide told me that he forwarded the information to the people in charge of the Sharing the Magic program and they are going to check to ensure that there are not any issues.

I believe the last one I got had an expiration date (you must redeem by...) and I want to stay on top of it so that I don't lose out that way.

Now that you got your letter, I am sure the reward will be on its way soon! I just want mine by January so I can use it toward my Annual Dues.
 
Referral rewards system is a great way to increase the business of the company. Existing customers can refer new customers to the company and they can get a reward for doing so.
