Referral question

Just curious, if you refer someone to DVC and they buy in, do you receive anything from Disney? TIA

I know when I bought in during the friends & family deal, the person that referred me got I think $200. Not real sure on the dollar amount, but they did get something.

It also depends if the state the person lives will allow it. I have seen a list , but am not sure where.

Yes, DVC members get a small reward for referrals that join DVC. The person referred usually receives a discount on their initial cost as well. Need someone's name to refer you? Please PM me, I'd be glad to help.

We live in Michigan, which does not allow any compensation because I do not have a realtors license. We get a note saying thank you with an apology that we can't recive any type of compensation.

I referred people durn friends and family and have not gotten anything and even have not heard from Disney at all that I will I think you only get something if you are the person originally sending them to DVC for their first contact and you also have to be in a state that allows you to get something.

It is supposed to take a few months to get compesated for a referral. NH is a state that you can get the referal benefit. My sister is there and she has gotten one.

We have received notes after the people went for their presentation or were sent their information basically saying thanks for letting your friends know about DVC. None of these people have joined. They are not ready to take the plunge. Just last week I talked to someone about DVC and they went to Disney and joined. They did not know my last name when they were there so they called DVC with it when they got home. Yesterday I got a phone call thanking me for the kind words about DVC, Blah, blah, Blah. so I ask about any sort of promotion for referrals and am told they need to check the person's file. Well apparently the people had received information in the mail a few years ago so my name as a referral is worth zilch, nada, nothing. They need to check the orginal marketing source(I think that's what the guide called it.) I think it stinks since the only reason this person went and had the presentation was because I told her we were happy being members and only wish we had joined sooner. If you are taking the time to call me and thank me, why not "SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!: LOL. My DH says why bother referring people because if they have looked into DVC in the past, you name as a referral doesn't even matter. The person that called was not my Guide. They did inform me that my Guide had been promoted and I now have a new guide. I'm almost tempted to contact my ole Guide to voice my opinion since now she may be in a position to do something to revise the referral program.

Thats what I meant guess I didn't express it right..I know in NH you are elligible but the people I referred thru friends and family I got nothing, not even phone call...if they have contact with Disney DVC at any time you do not get anything. So just giving you name is just that giving you name no reward except that you helped someone ...and hope they are very happy with there DVC purchase but haven't heard from them either. Carol

I received a letter from Disney saying thank you for the referral. And I know for a fact that they bought into DVC and I am in a state that gets the referral bonus...SO...We wait. It could take 60 - 90 days after the contract is completed. I promised the buyers that I'd share with them, so I'm just waiting for my letter from Disney to chose my gift...Disney Dollars!!

Where do you see if your state is eligible for the referral bonus? DH's cousin is looking into it and has given our name as a referral. I'n not expecting anything but a little something would be nice!

I just recieved a couple of letters from F & F referrals.

As well as some Discover the best kept Secret business type cards with my name on them for referrals.

Then the break down is Levels in a calender year 1st $200 , 2nd $350 , 3rd $500 , 4th $750 ,5Th $1000 that can be used for ann dues ,down payment,Disney dollars ,or Donation to Give Kids the World.

It states that could be 60 to 90 days from purchase complete date for redemption form then another 30 to 45 days for the rewards.
