Reese's Pieces makes a wish pre-trip report

Poor Reese :( but she will have a blast when it is time! She is adorable. I agree that going to Disney the first week of Dec is great. Christmas is beautiful. My daughter loves StR Wars so her wish trip is in May. Many prayers for all of you through treatment.

Awww... How disappointing for her not to be in Disney this moment... but when you do go - it will be wonderful.

Thanks so much for PMing me about how the Wish visit went, since I was on the road, I didn't see it here. I think any of the dates you've chosen would be great, but I agree with Nini - she has talked so much about that time frame - with low crowds and Christmas decorations up, it's a dream for me to take a trip then. :)

Loved seeing Reese in her Dorothy dress - just so precious!!!

So glad the meeting went well and they came bearing gifts no less. Awesome! I will agree that the first week in December is a great time to go. I do hope you get your first choice, but as Nini said, any of those three would be good.

Reese is adorable in that Dorothy dress!!! Did you make it? She looks like a happy little girl.

I didn't. When she was in the hospital someone sent it to her (the knew her love of anything Wizard of Oz). She LOVED watching the Wizard of Oz in the hospital wearing her Dorothy dress.

Reese's new favorite movie is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

However, her FAVORITE scene is in the beginning of the movie, when the queen orders the huntsman to kill Snow White. And Snow White runs and falls in the woods with the scary branches. "Silly Snow White!" Reese yells to the tv.

We had a busy weekend and I think Reese overdid it. Our community held a Zumba fund raiser for her on Saturday. We brought Reese there and Reese actually got up on stage to dance. (Without my husband or I). She LOVED it. But since then she has been completely wiped and wanting to go to bed early and sleeping later. So we are taking it easy until her doctor's appointment on Wednesday. I suspect her blood counts numbers are low as well. I wouldn't be surprised if she has to get a transfusion on Wednesday.

LOL about Snow White... That's so cute!

How nice of your community to do that for you all, I sure hope it helps out some. And I sure hope that Reese didn't overdo it too much. Please keep us updated. (((Hugs)))

How amazing to have your community step up in such a big way! That's awesome! I'm sorry Reese is feeling so poorly though. :( I'll be praying it passes quickly and maybe (just maybe) a BT isn't necessary.

This is so awesome to hear. Im sorry she's sick, but so glad to hear she's getting her wish. She's adorable.

Her doctors appointment went well. Amazingly she didn't need any transfusions today--no platets or hemoglobin. (They were holding their own.) Her immune numbers are REALLY low though--at 20. About three weeks ago they were 2500.
The doctors aren't concerned and figured that will happen. We are definitely trying to get her used to wearing a face mask out, so we completely bribed her with a trip to Toys R Us.

She was able and agreeable to wear the mickey mouse face mask without much complaint. When we go into TRU, or any store for that matter, she thinks she could only pick out ONE toy. She refuses to pick out more than one, because it means (to her) that she has to put the toy that she wants back. Anyway, she picked out a Beauty and the Beast figurine set, which she loves.

I am glad to hear that she didn't need a transfusion, but that's awful that her immune numbers are so low. I hope they are able to come back up soon.

I think bribery is a good thing, especially in a situation where there is no choice. You are doing great Jordyn... Much love and hugs to all of you. :lovestruc

Sometimes I think bribery is the most effective tool for the 2-3 year olds. It works wonders in our house.

Glad that the doctor's appointment was mostly good news. Hope Reese is feeling better.

Yay for bribery! Even bigger yay for no BT! That part is great news!

Love Beauty and the Beast and have recently realized that Sophie hasn't seen it in YEARS. Going have to locate a copy and play it for her.

Tip you may or may not have heard of. If Reece ever decides she isn't interested in wearing the face mask. You can always try to keep various flavored lip balms around. Let her pick one and rub the inside of the mask with a little of the flavored lip balm. Makes the inside smell good and our oncology nurse says it doesn't affect the face mask's effectiveness.

What a great act of kindness for your community to pitch in like that. So glad little Reece wanted to get up and dance. Sorry it wore her out, but glad she didn't need that transfusion!

I figure whatever works to keep the mask in place is perfectly fine. It's so funny that she likes one of the scary parts of the Snow White movie the most. And Wizard of Oz is pretty scary too. She must be one plucky little girl!! Good for her!

She definitely is. Her two favorite games lately are "Save the Princess"--where I hold the doll and she has to run/jump/crawl to save the princess.

She also pretends to be Snow White running away from the scary branches.

This kid is obsessed with "scary branches"

Sounds like Reece is a thrill seeker. :) Disney used to have a Snow White ride (Snow White's Scary Adventure?) that I understand scared allot of children. Don't know if that one is still operational since the expansion of Fantasyland, but it sounds like it would have been right up Reece's alley.

We measured Reese last night. She has to grow 3 inches in less than a year to ride the two rides she wants to ride - splash mountain and thunder railroad.

Unfortunately Reese ran a fever today. Which automatically means a hospital stay. So we got admitted this afternoon. We will probably be here for a few days unfortunately.

She is so little - I sure hope she is able to get big enough to ride those rides - she will love them. Splash is our favorite.

I am sorry to hear you were admitted, I hope she is feeling better soon. She is always in our prayers, please keep us updated if you can. :lovestruc

She will love Splash!

I'm so sorry she had started running a fever. In her case, the concern is related to her low ANC, is that right? I certainly hope that whatever her body is reacting to passes quickly.

Does she feel bad as well? I know sometimes the girls would run a fever but act normal. Even now during chemo, Sophie will do that on occasion.

But when they actually don't feel good... it breaks the heart. Praying Reece feels pretty good and you have peace while she is admitted. Keep us updated when you have the time.

Sor sorry Reece ran a fever and had to go back to the hospital. I do hope by now she is feeling much better and the fever has gone. It must be so tough to go through this. And scary. I can't even imagine. My heart goes out to you and this ordeal your entire family is going through. Continued prayers coming your way.
