Redwood Creek Challenge Trail questions

DD is 2. She loves to climb and jump and be an all-around active child. We figured when we went on Soarin' in the evening (we'll also go the next morning, but that's a different thread), one would hop over to RCCT while the other rode Soarin', and then switch out. Plugged it into Ridemax, and thankfully the two were placed side by side in the plans. However, I noticed 1) a 10 minute wait time for RCCT (really?) and that we should plan for it to take 40 minutes to go through (another really?)

So here's my questions:
1. Will RCCT really work for a 2 year old?
2. Should we wait to head to RCCT after the first one rides Soarin' and have the second catch up?
3. Is there a way to catch up within RCCT without disturbing anyone else? I've seen a few pictures of RCCT, but I ultimately don't know what to expect.

Thank you!

RCCT is a great playground type of place to let the kids run, climb, swing and check out your spirit animal. There are a few things you have to wait in line for, like the rope swing, but for the rest it's "let the kids blow off some steam running across bridges and climbing rope webs".

If one of you ran to Soarin' while the other is in RCCT with your 2yo, then switch. that might work. But I would only do it if the both of you had FP's so neither one of you is waiting in a long line.

1. I think a 2 yo would get a kick out of RCCT and it would be a perfect place to bring her right before a nap. ;)
2. While one jumps in line for Soarin' the other can get a head start to RCCT. :thumbsup2
3. The other hitch I can find here is is the actual act of finding your party. RCCT is pretty big. But with a cell phone and good direction giving you can do it.

My kids are older now but it is still a fun place to run around and a nice place to sit and enjoy a churro!!

Hope that helped some.

I hope I helped some. :)

There was no wait when we went, but it was kind of off-season. You will not need 40 minutes to get through because there will be a few things a 2 year old will not be able to do (my daughter turned 5 the day we were there and there were a few things she couldn't/wouldn't do). You will have fun letting your girl climb and do the slides but I would guess 20-30 minutes there would be good for a 2 year old.

Hmmmm. Most of RCCT is just a free climbing/play area....with no waits. They have a little corner in the back with a small rock slide, which is perfect for a 2 year old. Plus a hanging tube to crawl through. They have bigger, elevated climbing areas for older kids, but a 2 year old might enjoy them too (being closely followed by mom or dad, of course).

They do have a rope swing thing and a climbing wall....both of which you have to wait in line for. But your daughter wouldn't meet the height requirements for those. I can't imagine what there would be a wait for, aside from those two things. Maybe on really busy days, they limit the number of people that are let in. We have only gone during the slow season, and RCCT is usually pretty empty. And pretty wonderful! Its one of my favorite areas of the park. I would think it would be a great place to let your little one just wander around it.

We love RRCT and can't wait to get back to it. Don't worry about any wait - it's a great place to explore without any plans!

In my opinion, your plan of one going on Soarin' while the other hangs out at RCCT isn't ideal. I think it's a better use of your time to use a FP to get on Soarin', do your rider swap at that moment (I saw your other post about the child swap), and then you ALL go to Redwood Creek. That way, you guys don't have to split up and you can both enjoy her exploring Redwood together!
