Hi:
I had previously posted about an upcoming family wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana. Following the advice of the replies I have a family member who is a member of RCI and is checking into whether there is any rentals through RCI. She will be using her points for the same trip so it's not an option to trade or rent from her. I checked out Redweek as a guest and I do see listings there - which vary extremely, i.e., $50 to 2,000 for rentals. Posting on their forum it is my understanding that the space they have to post is limited so that I need to contact the owner (which means joining Redweek) and inquiring as to what the rental includes and if there is an extra charge for the all inclusive. Has anyone used Redweek and can they give me some helpful tips as to what I need to be looking for and making sure I have in the contract. Renting for someone I don't know is really scary. Also, I'll actually be looking for two rentals, one for 4 and one for 6. If anyone has a person that they have rented from through Redweek and they feel is trustworthy, I would love to have their contact.
Thanks so much.

You may want to post on the TUG board they may be able to help

I've used Redweek many times both renting my weeks & renting from people and MOST of the owners are completely on the up & up. Make sure you use a rental agreement and if you're concerned about the owner being trustworthy, don't hesitate to email Redweek Customer Service and ask if the owner has any complaints.

They also recommend using an escrow service on rentals, which in my opinion, is definately worth the expense if you're worried about checking in to the resort and not having a reservation.

You need to protect yourself, so if an owner refuses to use a rental agreement or an escrow service for payment, it might be best to find an owner who will. :)

Thank you for the replies. I will definitely use your suggestions. I may be back with more questions.
