That fits my understanding of Redweek. Their core competency has evolved over the years to non-DVC timeshare rentals.

That said, I would buy a DVC contract from a guy I met in an alley if the price was right and he let me pick my own title company.

I once received a reply from a broker asking me to contact them directly so they can show me how to put in a "proper" offer. Needless to say I didn't respond and my offer was accepted a few days later by another seller. Out of morbid curiosity I followed the listing for awhile and it went unsold even when they lowered the asking price close to my original offer.

Hahaha, sounds about right. It's ridiculous the patronizing remarks some make.

The broker I think was being referenced above is a sweet, wonderful person to talk to, but also told me that my offer was way off and no one would ever accept it at the time. They also said that I should do more research to understand what I was getting into and the value that contracts brought.

I had an offer accepted for $15 less per point from another broker that afternoon (similar contracts). I know I'm not the one that was delusional on the market.

Redweek is a total joke. This is a listing that is Redweek verified being sold via Redweek brokerage not the seller themselves. I have been exchanging emails with an agent there since the beginning of September. I submitted an offer with a question of clarification on points available since it said banked points available but no amount. He responds days later. After about 8 days he tells me Disney wont issue an estoppel. I inquire why he says "Disney has to waive their first right of refusal to issue an estoppel" UM yeah thats standard practice, so we went back and forth for 8 days for you to tell me something that is perfectly normal. I ask if sellers are international, another 4 days to get a response. Then he says he doesnt know if Disney will transfer banked points that Disney will never respond saying yes. I tell him they will and then he says he will submit the offer FINALLY. Then 4 days later another email to clarify fees with me before submitting offer. I said I know the fees. I tell him why dont you call me so we can speed up this process. 4 days later he ask my time zone. I tell him. Another day for response that he will call me. That was Monday, I have not been called. What a joke this place is. Hopefully the seller didnt pay a listing fee for this nonsense.

"Redweek brokerage" is just a broker affiliated with Redweek. I've actually had similar negative experiences trying to buy Marriott resales via those brokers. Their response time and/or inaccuracies annoyed me so much that I gave up on those deals.

But that doesn't condemn Redweek the website. We've bought multiple Marriott/Westin weeks from either private owners or brokers (whose listings are tagged more like the private owner listings rather than Redweek brokerage) and all was smooth and great. I also recently rented a summer 2025 DVC confirmed reservation via Redweek even though I was concerned renters wouldn't find it because of the hundreds of automated rental listings posted by one of the DVC brokers on Redweek. So I'm not giving up on it, since it has both some good deals for buyers (not necessarily DVC) and a lot of visibility for renting (including DVC). If I can get the visibility, the $40 listing fee is totally worth it rather than having to "bump" listings on FB every few days and deal with all the non-serious inquiries.

Welll in an unexpected turn of events I got an email that my offer was accepted. Good thing I didn’t add that extra 100 pts VDH I was considering. I guess I will see what the contract verbiage looks like. If there’s no point guarantee in the contract I won’t be signing it. I’m actually pretty shocked right now.
