Hello,

For those of you who use the Disney Visa Reward Dollars, do you order your redemption cards ahead of time or do you wait until you are at the parks?

Any other tips on redeeming Disney reward dollars are much appreciated.

Thanks!!
Jody

I order mine ahead of time. If you wait you most likely will not receive it, and I believe it is only mailed to your billing address. I could be wrong.

According to their website: "There are several locations at both the Disneyland® Resort and Walt Disney World® Resort where you can pick up a Disney Rewards Redemption Card. For a list of in-Park locations, go to the How to Redeem page in the Rewards Dollars section. Or, call 1-800-300-8575for locations. After you receive the card, call the number located on the sticker on the front of the card to activate and load it with Disney Rewards Dollars from your Disney Rewards account."

I wasn't sure if anyone had done this or if there is a fee involved.

We did a last minute trip last time (2 days notice) and just stopped at Guest services in Disney Springs to get ours. Took about 5 minutes & there's no fee.

That is good to know. We don't go to Disney often and got the Visa card just for this trip. I am debating on whether to go ahead and request my redemption card since it takes a few weeks, or wait until we go to Disney. If we wait, we may have some more funds to redeem. I am glad getting the card at Disney is so quick and free!

We order in advance, but only put small amounts at a time. Since the dollars expire in a year (I believe, but DW is the expert), we do about 100 at a time. Whenever we need more, it's a quick phone call. Works out perfectly for us.

You can get the card now with the minimum ($20), and then add on more later (it has to be at least $10). I'm going to Disneyland in December and already have a card, and I'm going to wait until after my last statement cuts before my trip to add on the rest.

Reward dollars that are on a card don't expire anymore. (Ones that have not been transferred to a card expire in 5 years.)

On our last trip, we did it both ways. Both myself and my mother have Disney Visa cards. My husband and I got ours ahead of time, my mom got hers from guest services. Both ways worked fine and neither took much time. Do whichever one works for you.

Definitely order the card now. It seems like it would be a hassle to go to Disney Springs just to get it. You can put the minimum (10 or 20?), or any amount. And you can add anytime on the website. I added what I thought that we would use at first and then added more as needed on my cell phone while we were at WDW (just use cell data, not public wifi, to login to account for security).

Cards used to expire in a year, but I think that they changed the policy.

I have done both and they are very simple to do. I would order it ahead of time, but if something comes up its painless to do in the parks.

I was looking into this exact thing this morning! Our trip is next week, so I am just going to MK to redeem. Our friends did that on our trip together last time and it didn't take them any time at all.
