Redeeming Cash Back

Hi! I have over $300 in cash back rewards in each of my Citibank and Discover cards. That $600, plus the $400 in Disney gcs I have already, is my "prepaid dining" for our trip. :)

I'm trying to figure out how to get the most when I redeem them. With Discover, I can "buy" gift cards for a discount, but from my searching I don't see anything like Disney or Target (to buy Disney gift cards). I was hoping they'd have something like "Target $75 for $70" and then use that and my redcard to buy it at 5% off....

Besides just cashing it out, does anyone know a way to maximize my rewards?

Thanks!

Does Lowe's sell Disney Gift cards? I know mine has a gift card center, but I've never looked to see if they have Disney. If so, you could presumably get a Lowes GC from Discover (which has a extra 5$ deal) and buy Disney cards that way. And perhaps earn another 5% back since Discover is doing back on Home Improvement stores this month.

YES! Lowes GC are pay $90, get $100. Now I need to check if our Lowes has Disney gcs....

I'm curious about Lowes GC to!! I saw them last time I was in there, but didn't read all of the fine print. Let us know if this worked.

It might not give you the compound savings like your Lowes plan, but if there's a balance, can't you just pay towards your trip in the amounts of cashback on your two cards, then use statement credits to nullify the charges? It'll only work if you have 0 balance, I think, but it's simpler than buying gift cards with gift cards.

E: I think you implied your trip is paid off already and you want this to be dining credits. Can you just charge it all to your room then go down the night before checkout and split payment of the room bill between your gift + credit cards? Then use statement credits.

At the very least I'll be buying $600 worth of giftcards at Target at 5% off and use the cash back to pay it off. I was hoping to get more savings than that though. :)
