Did you notice this on the VMK main page.

Starting Monday you will not be able to trade the red space suit magic pins any longer.

Get them back, if you have lent them out ;)

I dont see that anywhere can you point that out for me?

Read this on another forum and wanted to make sure everyone here knew about it. I don't understand why VMK would do this. It makes no sense to me. What do you all think?

VMK NEWSLETTER said:
INNER-SPACE SUIT MAGIC SPELL is no longer tradable!

Starting this Monday, the 21st of May, the reward for the Print-From-Home Tomorrowland Quest, the Inner-Space Suit Magic Spell will become non-tradable.

So if you have one you've traded to someone and want it back, get it from them this weekend!

Check out the VMK Rewards Card Checklist and make sure you have all the VMK bling! What cards do you have in your collection?

Sorry, I guess I should have said newsletter page not main page ;)

ETA: Red beat me to this LOL... Sorry I hadnt notice you posted it redsfan.

Makes perfect sense if you are Disney. If you want Space Magic you have to go to the park. After all VMK is marketing tool for Disney. However, this will also drive up the aftermarket cost for the codes on auctions sites.

I agree but this is the first time they have done this with in-park quest items. I hope they aren't going to do this to all the park quests now.

Yet another example of VMK REACTING instead of PROACTING.

- sigh -:headache:

People try to steal peoples stuff (Happen to me today lost alot :()

LOL I know what scamming is. What I meant was what scamming was going on with the Red Space Suit Magic that he had eluded to.

I don't think it has to do with the scamming or profit of those going to the parks. We can't trade the one from doing the Tomorrowland quest in game so why should this one be tradeable as well? I was surprised we were able to at all actually. Makes sense to me that they are doing this.

First of all let me say that I am not doubting VMK's actions in any way. I would just like someone to explain to me why this item being non-tradeable makes sense. I for one was very glad that it was tradeable because i went to DLR when Yavn said the quest would be there. But unfortunately I was two weeks early from its sort-of-promised release date and didn't get either the red space suit or the Mickey TV. So is this because it is some sort of profit to VMK? Or is it for the players protection? I am really curious as to why. I would like to know what makes this item different from any other in-park quest item. Any thoughts? and please be specific because my economics are a little rusty.:rotfl2:

it doesnt make any sense, ESCEPT if you use the VMK Laws of Warped Logic

Red Space Magic lets you get into the Inner Space shop without doing the quests. So, you can trade this magic to alternate charachters (IE: mules) and let them in there to buy items and then trade it back

Ah ok! thanks blue! I was beginning to wonder if it was just to boost E-Bay sales. Now i know VMK would never say that directly and in fact discourage E-Bay transactions related to VMK, but this to me sounded like a step in the wrong direction. But what you say makes sense. I didn't think about being able to get into the inner-space shop. LOL. I just thought it was a cool way to turn into a red space suit. But the sad part is, for those who cannot get to the parks, they now have to either be forced to buy it on E-Bay or trade codes, which is very risky. Or just not have the pin, i guess that is an option too.

Any other ideas on this? And to those of you who think it is to discourage scamming, i am curious to know how this pin would be used to scam someone (other than what doc said) as compared to any other pin in vmk. And remember i am really just curious, not ranting in any way. I value all of my dis friend's opinions.

While the Inner Space shop reasoning seems to make the most sense, I do wonder if people are accessing the shop without completing the quest to get space magic at such an "alarming" rate that VMK would cause this pin to now not be tradeable. I mean how many people would actually think to do that?

There's consistency but there's not when it comes to this. There's consistency in the fact that the in game space magic is not tradeable. There's inconsistency in the fact that other in park quest items have been tradeable until now.

It would have been nice for VMK to be specific with their reasoning instead of making people guess and then worry about future in park quest items.

Good point! And I would like to add this.. why does it matter? Is it such a bad thing to get a pin to be able to access the inner space shop whether it is by doing the quest or trading the pin? :rotfl2: Both take a lot of work to do.

Another good point! But i wonder if VMK gets the feeling that if they tried to explain themselves, it would fuel even more controversy. :confused3 Some would be happy with an explanation, but others would argue about it.
