Red Sox Tickets

bscs, sorry that happened to you. See what happens with them, but if you decide you want to try another ticket agency, here's one. The prices are high, but you could always go for bleacher seats which aren't too bad if the weather's good. ;) http://www.southshoreticket.com/

I really don't care where I sit at a game. I had such trouble getting tickets the last few years I was happy just to be there. As a kid I often stood in the way back behind the grandstand seats. Still a good time. Fenway is such a special park. Obviously, the box seats near the infield are nice, but not only are they hard to get, they're expensive even at regular prices. I wouldn't worry too much about where you sit, you'll still have a good time.

As for what to do before the game (assuming you get tickets), you might consider doing the Fenway Tour, which I believe runs every day at 4pm. Your husband would really like it if he's a Sox fan. We did it last year with the kids and it was great - I posted about it and will include the link if I can find it. If I recall it cost about $12, but you get a behind the scenes look at the park, very fun.

:sunny: Found it... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=854520&referrerid=70088

BTW, the area around Section 26 is shown in the 3 pictures in the link under View from the Green Monster Seats. It would be on the right hand side, behind the visitor dugout, way up back (I'm pretty sure in the blue seats original from the 1930's, i.e. tight fit, even if you're not Pooh sized, LOL). That might give you some idea.

StubHub Stinks! :headache: We ordered our tickets Monday morning. They said we'd get 2 e-mails confirming the purchase. We got the 1st but no 2nd one so we called tonight. They said they had our purchase in the records but the seller didn't have the tickets so they'd have to find us other ones!

Oh man :(. Take a deep breath. You have 4 months until the game and I am sure that you will get good seats.

Um...the seller doesn't have the tickets yet because the Red Sox have not yet mailed the tickets to the season ticket holders. It's only December. The season is still over 4 months away and sellet just hasn't received them from the Red Sox yet. It's nothing that StubHub is doing wrong. It's totally normal.

That's true about the seller not having the tickets yet. I won't get my season tickets until just a few weeks before Opening Day. However, Stub Hub should be aware of that and they shouldn't be "looking for" other rickets. I don't know the seller agreement with Stub Hub. Maybe sellers have to have the tickets in hand before they can list.

Well how can you sell something you don't have yet, and how would Stubhub let someone list it? At least they should say the seller owns the tickets but does not have them in hand yet, so you will have to wait until the Red Sox mail them to the seller so they can mail them to you. My office has Mets season tickets and we don't get them until about a week before opening day, so not having them yet is understandable. This sounds like a situation where a seller backed out. The seller and Stubhub should not return the buyer's payment, period.

I did just confirm with several people I know who have season tickets that they normally do not receive their tickets until shortly before the season starts, so they don't have them until April.

This sounds like a situation where a seller backed out.

That's not how I read the situation. It sounds to me like they don't have the tickets in hand to mail out. I'm not reading it as though they're backing out of the deal. If I understand how StubHub works, they broker the deal which means they hold the money until they receive the tickets and then release them to the appropriate parties. It sounds to me like they don't understand that anyone selling their season tickets won't have them in hand at this time.

And you can sell what you don't have because season ticket holders have already paid for their season tickets and entered into a contract with the Red Sox for those tickets. The same way this buyer and seller entered into a contract through StubHub. I'd go back to StubHub and clarify exactly what is going on. Even if you find another seller right now, you won't physically have the tickets in your hand for several months. The only exception might be if someone bought individual game tickets from the Sox and is reselling them already...which even then they may not have the actual tickets yet.

Just curious, how do all the other ticket brokers confirm their purchases without tickets in hand? :confused3 Nobody has tickets in hand right now - so does that mean nobody gets confirmations? That sure is a lot of money being put out there without actual confirmation of tickets. Having never used Stubhub or any other ticket agency for Sox tickets, I don't know how it works, however, it would seem to me if it was a sure thing, the OP would have at least had a confirmation email. I would think that sellers have to commit to games regardless of whether they have tickets in hand.

OK, but why did StubHub tell the OP she has to find other tickets or lose her $? They didn't tell her the seller will send them when they get them. They told her to find other tickets. That sounds like she should not expect to get the tickets she initially ordered, now or ever. Maybe the OP didn't understand what they told her? I agree, go back to Stubhub and get a clearer explanation.

I was thinking that StubHub didn't understand that they won't physically have the tickets until the Red Sox release them. I'm not sure how the seller can just back out of the deal, but then I've never used them either. I never buy tickets from a broker.

Pea-n-me: I was also thinking that they didn't send the 2nd confirmation email because they don't physically have the tickets yet. I was thinking that they send email 1 to confirm receipt of payment and then they send email 2 to confirm that they have the tickets. But again, I've never used them either, so I don't know for sure.

This is all speculation for me too. I just know that there probably isn't anyone selling Red Sox tickets anywhere right now that will have the physical tickets to give you...except maybe the Red Sox themselves.

My dh is on the phione w/ stubhub right now. And to clarify they do not have the tickets and will not be getting them the seller sold them to someone else. Now stub hub is trying to seat us in bad seats! :headache: will let you know more when he gets off the phone.

That's just plain wrong and you should not have to suffer for their mistake!!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Well we now have confirmed some tickets. Stub Hub found us some other tickets in the same section BUT we had to dish out an extra $30. It's upsetting but oh well at least now we should be all set.
