My dh and I have been trying all day to buy red sox tickets. They went on sale this morning at 9am. The problem is it takes forever to get through through the web site :badpc: and the phone. We finally got through but every time we tried to buy 2 tickets it said that the seats may not be together. Well no way :( am I going to a baseball game w/ my husband for our anniversary and not sitting with him. So now I think we may be stuck buying them through other companies on the net. They are around 3- 4 times more expensive this way. :scared: Does anyone have any other ideas. This is my dh dream. Every year for the past 10 years we've done what I wanted for our anniversary now I said for our 11th we should do what he wanted. :love2: I feel really bad for him if we can't get tickets. :scratchin Is there other ways that we don't know about? :confused3 Please let us know.

YOu could call ticketmaster <are they the brokers for RedSox?> or go for a nice drive from Maine and get them directly from Fenway! :)

I got tickets for April, against the Mariners!

I don't know if this helps but I've bought them on the Website on the day of the game in past years including last year. Often times some tickets are released early in the morning. It's just hard to plan ahead doing it this way. I live a short distance from Boston so it's much easier for me to get to Fenway on the spur of the moment.

Just keep checking the web site as more months are added. I tried today as well and couldnt even get on at all!

Two tips-- last year I got 3 tickets for my sons for their birthdays. It was for a day game in late June. As I sat for hours one day searching it seemed the afternoon/weekday games did not sell out so quickly.

Also, if it at all possible, get to a spring training game. We saw the Sox play Tampa in Tampa last March. It was AWESOME!! I bought the lawn seats, chap ones, Nixon threw a ball to my son!! It was the best thing I ever did! We had a blast!

Good luck and be persistent!

The Red Sox are SUCH a big draw these days, it's tough. It's sometimes easier to get tickets to an away game. And, Red Sox Nation always travels very well.

2 summers ago, we tried and tried and tried to get Sox tickets at Fenway. No dice. We actually ended up scoring Red Sox/Orioles tickets at Camden Yard. Pricelined a hotel, and had a nice long weekend. There were actually as many Sox fans there as there were Orioles fans.

You're in Maine, so maybe heading to Toronto might be the ticket for you. Unless Fenway is part of the draw?

We're looking at road tripping to Toronto this year maybe.

Tickets went on sale today only for the Sox packs and the first two months so you're not out of luck if you were not able to get tickets today. I'm not sure when tickets will be on sale for the rest of the season but keep checking. Good luck!! Also, there is a lottery for Green Monster seats and you might consider entering that. You are not guaranteed seats, only the chance to buy them. DH entered last year, got picked and we were able to get tickets for the Tampa Bay game in September. The experience was awesome and the perspective from these seats is amazing. Just something to consider. Have fun with whatever you choose :)

Did you have a particular date that you wanted the tickets for? I know you mentioned your anniversary, so is the game on that date? I have a friend who has season tickets and depending on the date, he might be willing to sell you his pair...at face value. He never charges more. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. But I make no promises. (Please note that I'm only making this offer to the original poster. I don't want to end up with messages from everyone interested in tickets because they aren't even my tickets to give and he might not even have them to give. But it might just be an option.)

I gave up trying to buy Red Sox tickets for Fenway, so instead last year, bought tix to one of their games in Baltimore(or Fenway South as I've seen it mentioned). We made a long weekend trip out of it, staying at a hotel w/i walking distance to Camden Yards and spent one day in Washington, D.C. . Had a great time and probably 90% of the fans in the grandstands were Boston fans, so it was about as good as a "home" game! Also, the Inner Harbor area is a great place to hang around and EVERYONE there was in their Red Sox wear - great fun!

This year we're going to try to get tix for the Red Sox in Phillies or Tampa. Our goal is to hit a different away stadium for a Red Sox game every year. That will get me out of my comfort zone of only vacationing in WDW and I'll get to see a bit more of this wonderful country we live in.

Last week I was looking to buy tickets to several games, red sox and celtics. Ive never bought tickets before and wasnt finding any info off the fenway official website. So i ended up buying them online at ticketsnow.com There was a 10.00 service fee per ticket, but i at least got them to only make me pay shipping once. I do feel like i seriously over spent. I hope you find a better deal than I did.
Godd luck

hey TinkerPixxie, I know sox tickets are hard to find, but celtics tix are not that hard to find. There's always plenty. Just go to the website, www.bostonceltics.com and then click on "tix" and it will trasfer you to ticketmaster. Their service fee is high but atleast it's not 10 bucks. Hope that helps for next time! :flower:

Last year I saw the Sox in play in Philly. There were at least as many Red Sox fans as there were Philly fans. Might be worth checking out to see if there's another game this year- you could fly on Southwest from Manchester to Philly.....not sure if they have the interleague game every year or not. My mom came down for it from MA, and she said that Amtrak was packed with Sox fans.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones - I got on and actually bought 4 seats for 4 games via one of the Sox Pax. :cheer2: I'm still amazed because for the past few years it's been very difficult to find tickets. Luckily, someone mentioned to me Friday that they were going on sale Saturday morning. I picked what I thought might be one of the less popular pax so I'd have a better shot at getting them, maybe that helped. ;)

I logged on around 9:50am, spent an hour in a virtual waiting room, and surprisingly another screen popped up and I bought the games. Kind of stressful though - they only give you 1 minute and 30 seconds to do "something" so I was rushing. I actually thought I messed up and bought only one seat per game, LOL, so I tried to get on again all day without luck. It wasn't until later on that I realized that I had gotten the four seats per game that I'd intended.

I agree with finding a Season Ticket holder and buying some games off of them which is what I did last year. I know you can buy tickets at a ticket broker, they're outrageously expensive but they are available. We considered going to another park to see the Sox play - I've heard that this is popular now in places like Toronto and Baltimore. And I've also heard you can sometimes buy tickets at the Fenway Box Office the day of the game, but that's risky, I guess. At any rate, as another poster said, there will be more tickets going on sale and you can try again online. Good luck. :wizard:

BOOOO!! HISSSSSSS!!!
GO YANKEES!!
ok now that is out of the way..
What we do for the impossible to buy Yankee tickets is go through a ticket broker

I guess it is legalized scalping if they are not located in the State where the games are played. The prices vary wildly but you can get someone's season tickets right behind home plate if you want. I always buy the same guys seats behind 1st base for my DH. The price he charges us is about triple the face value if they are playing the Sox(But what a game it is!!) :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I go to several Sox games every year, and have never had a problem scalping tickets outside the park. Generally pay between 100-150% of face, which is often less than you would pay for official tickets online once you add in all the fees and shipping costs, and a fraction of what you would pay a broker. I know a lot of people have similar experiences getting tickes off ebay a week or two before the game. (Note - unless you are trying to go to a Yankee game. Then all bets are off and getting tickets will be near impossible).

The rest of the tickets go on sale in February I believe. So you might be able to try then.

I was able to score 2 Sox Paxs on Saturday morning, after sitting in the Virtual Waiting Room forever it seemed!

Ticket availability depends on what game you want to go to...games vs Yankees are high dollar items.

Check back at the Red Sox website about a week before the game...sometimes they release tickets to the public.

Try stubhub.com. That is a site for ticket holders trying to buy or sell tickets, usually season ticket holders looking to sell. Ticketmaster is the biggest racket in history, but there isn't much we can do about it. Do you have to go ON your anniversary? You might have better luck trying for another game. Going on another day is better than not going at all, right? I have to say I've seen people selling tickets on ebay, but I would be afraid they would be counterfeit, although that's just my humble opinion. Good luck, and Let's Go METS!

METS??!!! WHAT??!! Althought they do look good this year don't they- they made some great trades. We will be watching but still cheering on our YANKEES!!! :cheer2:

You can also see if you can pick up a pair on eBay. You'll have to pay more than face value, but you might not have to pay too much if the Sox are not playing a real popular team. You can create a search for your specific date and save it in "My eBay Favorites" and have eBay email you everyday there are new auctions. I would then have a general idea where you want to sit (level, location, etc) and how much you want to pay. From the sellers side of things, I can tell you that the prices tend to go up right before the game. I rarely sell my extras more than a week or two in advance. So ... as a buyer I would start looking right now. You might get a bargain.

Good luck!

Honestly, I would never buy tickets through ebay and I can't believe people sell them. With the Sox, if you're a season ticket holder and are caught selling your tickets on ebay, your season tickets are revoked immediately and you won't be able to get them back. Same thing with the Patriots. My husband and I work at Gillette Stadium and they have an even better policy set-up. I'm not sure exactly how it's done, but every game there is a list of the tickets that were resold on ebay and those tickets are blocked. I can't tell you how many people we've seen show up for games who bought their tickets off ebay and they are denied access to the game. They're out the money that they paid for the tickets with virtually no recourse. And if they are season tickets, the season ticket holder also loses their tickets. It's just not worth it.
