Red Robin

We love Red Robin! Bottomless fries and the fish burger!

We may be a little nostalgic because there are none here in Orlando. Which amazes me considering the restaurant trade here on I-Drive.

Is the current U District location the original one? I was just there today. Love the view over the water. :thumbsup2

We love Red Robin. The food has always been hot & fresh. We try to sit on the outer edges so the noise level is not as bad.

I always thought the downtown one was the original, but it turns out you are correct. For years I had only been to the one downtown and I still have never even seen the U-District one.

Must be a Washington thing - I love Red Robin!! I have an unhealthy obsession with the mozzerella sticks and Clucks and Fries. I actually really liked it the first time I went to one in PA, and now that I live within 20 minutes of two, I'm in heaven. The prices are comparable to other similar restaurants in town, and they provide FAST service, which with a toddler is essential. Fun speciality drinks (from lemonades to shakes to alcohol.) And they don't look at me funny when Russ and I share a kids meal chicken fingers (and the aforementioned mozzerella sticks.)

Sounds like I may have to try this place sometime!

I'm a fan of Red Robin. There was one that opened in PA when I was about 12 (12 years ago) and I spent a lot of Friday and Saturday nights there as a teenager. We actually discovered many of their secrets. For example, for a late night snack as a teen, we'd go and ask for just a basket of fries. And the basket was either $.99 or $1.99 depending on the number of fries--the $1.99 version was pound of fries I believe, which is a pretty good helping. They also used to have a peanut butter cup sundae that I loved (I'm a chocolate and peanut butter nut!) and you could get a kid's size for $.99 which was about 1/3 the size of the regular size (which cost about $4.99 at the time).

As I've gotten older I only go for meals, not for "hanging out" or late night snacks, so I just get full meals. I'm a vegetarian and it's one of the only places I really enjoy getting a veggie burger. Unlike most restaurants I've been too, they use Boca Burgers (I believe they have garden burgers too) which are made of soy and have a flavor somewhat similar to real meat. I like the texture much better than the grainy kind of texture some gardenburgers have. Plus it has more burger options--and lots of them easily made vegetarian--than most similar chain restaurants. I usually go for the 5 Alarm Burger or the one with the pineapple.

Oh, and they used to have the BEST nachos for an appetizer, then they changed them to chili nachos. :confused3

Overpriced burgers and fries in a noisy, crowded atmosphere. The food is OK, but the menu is pretty limited. It's not terrible, but I can think of many, many places I'd rather eat.

I think I'll give it a try next week. Couldn't hurt. I don't know....either that or Smokey Bones.
