Red Lobster being cheap!!!!

Actually, their menu states:

All entrées come with choice of salad and unlimited Cheddar Bay Biscuits™.

Exactly. And I can't imagine letting even one of those biscuits go to waste. I will pack them with me for a nice trip home. But I am sure some people will leave them there.

Wow - I'd never noticed that! People have a gripe then.

I don't recall the OP saying they weren't GIVEN extra biscuits...they just weren't BOMBARDED with them without indicating that they wanted more.

Just got back from RL and brought home 3 biscuits! Yummy!! The server brought 5 biscuits to our table of 4 and I am the only one who eats them.....Last time when it was just DH and I the server brought 2 biscuits....I kindly asked for more and then brought them home at the end of the meal. I can never finish my meal when we go there....I think the portions are huge!

I used to work for RL a very very very long time ago. At the time we were supposed to bring one biscuit per person at the table plus one more, so for a table of 3, I would bring out 4 biscuits. I can't remember the refill amount though. Anyway, I will say this - RL was FANATICAL about food safety! I can only assume they still are. Made me feel pretty good about eating there.

My husband and his sister went out today to eat at Red Lobster, and they only gave them 4 cheese biscuits during thier whole meal!! Now both of them are not small by any means, and who does'nt love those cheese biscuits. The waiter said Red Lobster was starting to cut back on these. Good grief. They only brought them out two biscuits at a time.

I ate there once and never returned.
Isn't this the place that gets ALL their food frozen style and then just heats it and serves it....:confused3 UGH!

I get the gripe about only bringing the biscuits one or two at a time but Oh! ewwww - Yuck RL! I thought even those biscuits were nasty. :rolleyes1

I guess it's because I live in a place where there's so many better (fresher) and cheaper places to get seafood (at the family restaurant at the end of my street I can get a fried clam plate with fries and coleslaw for $8.95 - Fish & Chips or shrimp & scallops for $7.95).

Flame Away!:rotfl::rotfl:

I haven't been to a Red Lobster in years, since we lived in Auburn for grad school. Back then, RL was a splurge place for us because there weren't a whole lot of sit down restaurants in Auburn and we were on a very limited budget. I was never that impressed with the food but LOVED the biscuits. Still 2 would be fine for me. I can understand them not wanting to waste food. Would they bring you more and more if you asked?

I don't have a problem with them cutting back as long as the quality is still good. The norm in America is we eat too much anyway so consider it there way of helping us slim down.

I didn't even know there ARE RLs in Mass. I love the crab alfredo. I'd go for that!

and who'da thunk RL biscuits would incite SUCH a response?! I'd be scared to mention Healthcare! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

None in MA, but there's several near my MIL and she always wants to go there for the shrimp. I go but oigh! I don't like it.

My husband and I went a few weeks ago and I dont think we will be going back. We live in El Paso TX so there is not much in the way of seafood places here. We ordered the calamari. In the past, you would get a platter full of calamari. Now you get veggies sprinkled with them. Both of us haved worked in the food industry and knew immediately this was a cost saving measure. Dont get me started on the salad that was really just a bag of salad thrown on the plate. RL is totally not worth the money to us anymore. just my 2 cents!

Our family loves RL, but we don't go unless we use coupons. We always ask for extra buscuits...and then we ask for a bag at the end to take them home. I'm sure we aren't the only ones who do that. I rememer when RL used to serve hush puppies (before the cheddar biscuits came along).

I went back and reread and you're right!

Like I said before, they ALWAYS bring a basket that has one biscuit for each person at our Red Lobster. This totally makes sense to me. However, if they say unlimited, they do need to bring more when asked.

OP, did they ask for more refills and get turned down? Does that store's menu still say unlimited?

We're in So.Massachusetts...where can we find these prices? What's the name of the restaurant, please?

This is why I make my own at home now! I almost have the same recipe as them. The taste is almost exact!

3 cups bisquick
1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
1 cup milk
2TSbp parsley

mix all together make drop biscuits on a greased baking pan. bake 375 for 12 minutes

melt 3-4 TBsp of butter and mix with garlic salt, brush on hot biscuits and serve!

This recipe saves me since we live some where there is no Red Lobster but plenty of fresh lobster from the ocean!!!

I'll have to make these next time we go to Chauncy Creek Lobster Pier in Kittery Point! The open for the season on Mother's Day, can't wait!!!

Back to topic- it could just be that specific RL location. We live near an Olive Garden that is barely gives you any pasta on the side. My Dad will get chicken parm and it will have a teeny little bit of pasta... it barely costs anything- give me a break! When he goes to the one in Lake Buena Vista on 535 he swears he gets more. I have no issue with RL giving less rolls as long as they don't give you a hard time if you ask for more when you are out.

Paula Deen's recipe for cheddar biscuits is excellent. You can find it on her website if you're interested.:)
