What's a red hatter? Or is it one of those things that if I need to ask, I don't really need to know about :sunny:

Good Morning BunnyFoo: :sunny:

The Red Hat Society is not a big secret. :goodvibes It's a bunch of women who are over fifty getting together for chit chats and outings. The only requirements are that you are over fifty (although under 50's can join but must wear pink and mauve),wear red hats and purple outfits (yes I know the colours clash!!)and want to have fun. There are actually 22,000 chapters worldwide. I have a blast with my chapter!! :grouphug:

My mom is a Red Hatter:)...the collar from the car accident just came off, and her hat is going on;)

:sunny:

My DH and I were in Port Perry and followed a group of women from store to store as we checked out the shops on Main Street. They were all wearing Red hats and some had purple colored clothes on. We kept wondering what group they belonged to. They seemed to be having an enormous amount of fun. So much so in fact that my DH wondered if he bought a red hat if he could join them. We made a side trip to Mount Dora Fla. to Renningers antique market when we went to WDW in February and saw a booth there selling nothing but red hats.

GrannyEv, I saw a group of Red Hat Society Ladies having Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian, when I was there on a recent trip. They were obviously having a wonderful time and were quite striking in their red hats and purple outfits. I particularly noticed the varying age of the members and did wonder what the minimum age was.

I see you did find a Red Hat avatar! :)

I have started a website called Red Hat Disney Divas. I would love to get Red Hatters from all over the world together at Disney. I can imagine what an impression it would be to have all those ladies walking in, in their red hats and purple outfits. And they are all so different. So now of course I am on the look out for red hats and purple attire. Value Village is a great source of clothes. :cool1:
My group has three pink hats (40-49)and the rest range from 50- their 70's.

I had never heard of them either, and then today I was down on the main floor of our building and there was a "swarm" of red hatted ladies here for a tour of the facility. Had I not read your note earlier in the week I would have figured someone had merely got a good buy on some red hats ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I noticed that AC Moore has a whole scrapbook section dedicated to Red Hatters. I think that's great! I want to join....is there anything for 30 somethings? :cool1:

You can still join as a pink hatter in lavender! My mom is red hat and there are a few pink hats in their 30s and 40s in her group. She is wanting me to join, and I'm still in my 20s. I may go to the next meeting to see what it's like.

Their last red hat outing was a bus trip to Atlantic City.

Oh okay I see ... Now I'll know what's going on when I see a group of women with red and purple on :)

Gotta love those red hatters!

We have a store in Stratford Ontario (which by the way is a great place to shop) and have seen more and more of them each year. We have even devoted a table in our store to products promoting the society (including calendars).

I am not quite at this age yet, however it always looks like they have a great time where ever they go.

Well here is the website I have set up through MSN. Having never set up one before I'm not quite sure what I'm doing. :confused3

Will put some dates on the website and go from there. I only have two weeks a year vacation and I always go in September to Disney. But of course wouldn't mind going twice in one year!! :teeth:

Hope you all are having a great day. Here in Ontario it promises to be a gorgeous weekend.
