Red Eye Flights??

Red eye flights are usually cheaper than flights leaving earlier in the day (and I never heard of a flight leaving at 3 am - red eyes leave in the late evening), because they basically stink. You may have an extra day, but you will be exhausted due to lack of sleep.
I have to agree, sleeping in coach on a red eye is pretty miserable. I used to work in SF and would take a red eye back to DC. My company even paid for F class. Sure I dozed on and off for the entire trans con, but I still arrived in a zombie like state. At least I lived in DC and was able to crawl into my own cool comfy bed. I couldn't imagine having to slog around WDW for 8 hours without a shower and at least 2 to 3 hours of true horizontal sleep.

Realize you will arrive in Orlando in the early morning. You will then arrive at your hotel before 10am. There is no guarantee that your room will be ready before 4pm. You will only have access to public restrooms & showers and will need to stow your carry on luggage with bell services. Whatever you "gain" by taking a red eye will quickly be eaten up by your sheer exhaustion the first day of touring with lack of sleep, shower, etc.

Try scheduling your trip on an early west coast departure so yoiu still arrive by 4 or 5 eastern time, which still gives you plenty of time at whatever is the EMH park that day while still giving your family a reasonable night sleep.

you get to MCO about 10:30 check your bags at hotel because check-in is not till 4 then head to the park by noon at the latest, pretty much a extra day at the park.
I still have two questions:

1: Have you personally taken a red-eye before?
2: Are you an adult-only party?

Unless the answers to both of those questions is "yes", this is not likely to work as well as you think it will.

Brian, I have to agree with you. I can answer yes to both questions, AND my red-eye flights are my home-bound trips, and I'm still a mess the entire day I arrive home.
