I just returned from Disneyland and would highly recommend the Red Carpet Tour for any first-time visitors. I think it's the best deal going. For $20 (with AAA discount) you get what amounts to a private tour of both parks and Downtown Disney, a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean without having to wait in line, priority seating for Aladin without having to wait in line, fastpasses to two other attractions after the tour, and a lanyard with two Disney pins. The tour leaves each morning at 9:30am and you buy tickets at the Guest Services booth at the entrance to Disneyland.

I also did the priority seating for Fantasmic and it's well worth the $47 if you can afford it. Tom.

<font color=navy>Thank you for your report. :) I was wondering how the red carpet tour was.

Also, for Fantasmic, did you eat up on the balcony or down below?

We sat on the balcony. That would be my first choice because there are only 21 seats and the treatment is very personal. Also, the dessert is served buffet style. But if the balcony is full I would certainly take the ground-level seats. People really do stand in the best viewing places two hours before showtime. You're much better off with a reserved seat.

One point, seats in the balcony are determined by when your ticket is purchased. Seats on the ground are determined by when you check in before showtime. Tom.

Would you mind describing the lanyard you received... also how many people were on the tour with you?

Thanks
kc

The lanyard was a plain black one with two identical pins so you could trade one. Only my wife and myself were on the tour. When I called a few days ahead to check on where to pick up the Red Carpet tickets, the CM mentioned that only two people had gone on the tour that day. So small tours may be common this time of year. Tom.

I did the Red Carpet tour in September. It was definitely a good deal and an interesting tour. I don't know how kids would like it, but during peak season it would be great. You get front of the line access for PoC, priority seating (front row of the main seating area, right in the center) for the Aladdin show. Fabulous show! Plus two fast passes - one for Soarin' and one for Winnie the Pooh.

We also did the balcony for Fantasmic. There's was a lot of MIS-information when we checked-in, but giustot is absolutely correct about the seating order. We were first to check-in for the balcony so we got to go in first (and hit the buffet first- yum), but the seats are reserved in the order the tickets are purchased. The balcony was the highlight of our trip. We hung around afterwards and watched the crowds (the little people) below trying to escape! :) I felt like royalty.

We just did this tour last Friday.
Really enjoyed it....great tour guide (his last tour....he was promoted).....one other couple with us.

Plain black lanyard with 2 Millionaire flashing pins.
We rode HM (not PotC)......but we had the choice.
No Alladin seating.......special seating for the Electrical parade.
And 2 fast passes (Soarin' and WtP).

Highly recommend it.

In September we met at 9:30 outside the entrance to DL. The Aladdin show was the last activity. The show ended at 1:45. This time did not include using the FPs.

Ours was from 9:30 until 12:00.

We didn't get to see Aladdin and the Fast passes were for later....as was the parade viewing.

Hi,
Is this tour a lot of walking. Is it a fast pace. I get tired easly, would you reccomend this for a slow poke like me?
thanks,
Thatmom

The tour is a lot of walking. Since it was just my wife and myself we went at our own slower pace and saw everything in the allotted time.

Do you order tickets in advance or just pick them up at the Park? DH and I will be at DL in February and I would love to do this.

Did a behind the scenes at WDW 5 years ago and really enjoyed it.

We ordered out tickets a day or so ahead by phone from our resort. Picked them up that morning.....but it wasn't crowded. Guess that would depend on the time of year.

I love behind the scenes tours. We've done 4 or so at WDW and wish DL would have more......and more comprehensive ones.
