The RCC is pretty sparse, but you can usually find enough to tide you over till your flight. In the afternoon there is usually cheese, crackers, trail mix, cookies and sometimes they have carrots/celery with ranch dips cups. Even though there are tongs at all the food I have frequently seen people grab with their bare hand which pretty much turns me off from eating anything that isn't prepackaged.
The free alcoholic beverages are well liquors, draft bud light and some seriously bad red and white wine. You can pay for the good stuff, but if you want the good stuff you are better off going to one of the many restaurants on the concourse and just ordering a decent drink and having a relaxing meal with it since food seems to be a priority.
My main use for the RCC is free internet and CLEAN bathrooms. I figure a lot less people trek thru the RCC and there always seems to be someone checking the restrooms for cleanliness.
Depending on what time your flight is it very well may be absolutely chaotic in the lounge. ORD and IAD are notoriously busy from 3pm-7pm when all the international flights are departing. Any passenger in international business may access the lounge so you very well may be in a packed lounge which is anything but relaxing.
The lounges are just okay and since you are just using a freebie cert then go ahead and use it. My company pays for my membership but I frankly wouldn't bother if they didn't pay. Many times I just head to Vino Volo at IAD for a good glass of wine and cheese plate verses schlepping to the lounge.
