Recycled attractions elements

At DL, in the Winnie the Pooh ride the mounted heads of the deer, moose and buffalo from Country Bear Jamboree are still hanging on wall (Pooh replaced that show). We saw it in June but you do have to know where to turn around and look.

I also heard the Indiana Jones ride at DL has an old Eeyore parking lot sign hidden in que as it was built in that old parking area. Didn't see that one!

Yes, the heads are above the exit sign, but you have to turn around to see them. Max, Melvin and Buff. I love that they did this.

Never heard about the Eyeore sign in Indiana Jones, but I like the idea of it. I'll have to remember to keep an eye out next time. I wonder if it's in that little cage room with the maps on the desk?

Aren't some of the props from the FotLK from the Lion King Parade that was at DIsneyland?

The lady with the funky hair from the spiel at the begging of Star Tours can be seen in the seat belt video on Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.

In the old World of Motion there were two animatronic men trying to pull something. I can't remember what they pulled in the original ride. They were dressed up as pirates and put into Disneyland's Pirate of the Caribbean, where they were shown trying to pull a heavy treasure chest. They're gone now, they were taken out when Jack Sparrow went in.

Trader Sam's at Disneyland has some props from the Adventurers Club. There were also some in the Vinylmation store at Downtown Disney. I thought I heard they weren't there anymore.

And before that it was the recycled Mission to Mars attraction.

Much brighter themeing and the biggest special effect was there were pistons under your seat that pulled it down so you felt like you were feeling the g forces of take off.

Its one of only a few rides I remember from my first trip in 77.

I wouldn't go that far. There was quite an extensive refurb of the show elements between the Flight attractions and Alien Encounter/Stich.

Stich is much more of an overlay over the Alien Encounter attraction then you could say Alien Encounter was an overlay over Flight to Mars.

Lets see, here are some other nods/recylced elements you can see.

In MouseGears they have one of the Dreamfinder airships up on the wall.

You can still see the Seabase Alpha paint scheme over the Omnimover tunnel in the Aquarium in the Seas w/ nemo. (Obviously, they couldn't drain to aquarium to repaint the outter edge of the windows).

After the Latest Space Mountain (wdw) refurb, one of the items on the Baggage Claim conveyor has a "Mesa Verde" (horizons) sticker

The Butler and robotic Dog in the Space Mountain Exit vignettes have actually been with the ride since opening. First as a boy and his dog (w/ skin and clothes) in the original RCA house of the Future, and then later with the outer skins removed to showcase the inner workings of the AudioAnimatronics in either the vignettes, or at one time even holding a camcorder for the wall-of-tv's during the exit climb.

Horizons used to have a scene featuring a TV with a video loop playing of the Sherman Brothers singing "It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" from CoP.

Mission Space you can see the old Horizon's icon on the space-station section in the queue area.

In the tree that was in Pooh's playful Spot at WDW (And now in the Pooh's attraction Queue) there is a knot in the woodwork that looks like the Nautilus sub from the 20k leagues attraction that used to occupy the location.

there are a few to help get things going....

o so i saw that someone mentioned the Eeyore sign in the indiana jones ride at disneyland, it is there in the room that has the video with Sallah in it, its best seen from the front of the room (where the cm is) in the center with a flashlight looking back, sometimes a camera flash can pick it up...i have a picture of it somewhere as it was my mission to find it my freshman year of college so if i can find it i will definitely add it...

another disneyland one is on haunted mansion holiday, during the overlay the bride is no longer in the attic so the imagineers hide a teddy bear dressed in a wedding dress with a red beating heart

yet another disneyland one since thats my park (going to wdw for the 1st time in sept), in the nemo subs at the end you can see a mermaid and a sea serpent (also mentioned in the spiel) made out of rock right before you come back to the "surface".

im sure i can think of more...

Not ride-related, but I saw some of the flower sculptures from this year's Flower & Garden show in DTD as decorations. It was nice to see they weren't going to waste.

Is there props from any of the Delta Dreamflight incarnations left in Buzz?

I recall that some of the Presidents are used in different places, where they needed a head.

Love these kinds of threads. I don't recall any props, but can't help but imagine Dreamflight in the surround tunnel near the end of Buzz.

I believe the tunnel towards the end of the flight is from the original Delta Dream Dreamflight (or the old Eastern Airlines sponsored version before that). The tunnel is where there was the spinning jet engine just prior to a simulated plane take-off.

If you look at the driver of the truck that almost hits you in test track it is a president LBJ.

They haven't queued people up in that back room for a while (at least when I've been there). It's best just to ask the CM to show you with their flashlight. It's pretty hard to spot on your own.

Before they updated Star Tours, in the scene where Rex first loses control on his way out of the hangar you could see what looked like a large golden microscope on the lower right. This was a nod to the old Adventures Thru Inner Space attraction that Star Tours replaced in Disneyland.

Also I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but in Journey Into Imagination with Figment, one of the office doors reads "Dean Finder," which of course pays homage to the older version of the ride with the Dreamfinder.

Hell... If you want to get picky, The use of flower sculptures (topiaries) for the Flower and Garden festival could be considered a recycled idea. They used to be found all over the Disney property (Such as the family of Elephants that used to walk under the Monorail track between the TTC and Contemporary). Sadly, You can't find them as much anymore outside of the Flower and Garden festival.

There's obviously the speed tunnel.... which could be considered a recycled idea since they've used the concept in numerous places throughout the years. (DL Peoplemover, If You Had Wings/Dreamflight/Buzz, World of Motion, etc).

But as someone else has pointed out, The old Jet Engine lighting effect from Dreamflight still exists in Buzz. They changed the light color from white to red, but it's still there.

Another "Recycled" idea that I just thought about.... If You Had Wings utilized projected live action movie elements projected onto screens set within a setpiece on the attraction. this allowed them to create an attraction with some depth within the rather tight confines they had to work with within the building.

When EPCOT Center opened, they recycled the idea/concept in the Mexico pavilion. The biggest difference being that instead of riding an omnimover, you rode a boat.

Was it these guys pulling the horse?

I don't know if they are still there since the refurb but my friend who worked as a tech on Star Tours said some of the droids were Figments without their skin.:figment:
