Can somebody please tell me about the recreational activities at Vero Beach? Not the activities scheduled by the resort, but activities you are free to do on your own. For example, at Hilton Head you can go crabbing, play a game of pool, ping pong, rent bikes, etc.

Thanks!

You can rent bikes - nice bike path, 9 hole mini golf, ping pong, arcade, shuffleboard, tennis, basketball, go down the slide a bizillion times, at the beach they rent watercraft, plus all the great things that Eb and Flo's offers- yes you can tell we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE DVC Vero Beach - my favorite is sitting under a umbrella and reading :Pinkbounc

Not to mention.. Hale Orange Groves... Captain Hiram's.. Dodger Spring training..

I can't remember offhand if Eb & Flo's rents poles or has a fishing excursion... I am fairly positive though that there are places in Wabasso, Sebastian, and Indian River where you can rent poles, etc...

Depending on how avid of a fisherman you are, there is a Super Walmart in Sebastian.. You may be able to buy a pole and some tackle for the price of renting...

We were last at Vero in Jan 2003. We walked the beach, read by the pool, and rented bikes. One afternoon we left the resort and drove to the nearby town of Sebastian. We had a great lunch at a small restaurant by the bay, then toured the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum. We found it very much worth the time and admission fee. After learning about the history of that stretch of coast, we found ourselves watching for silver pieces of eight on the beach instead of just sea shells. Keep it mind for a rainy day activity. pirate:
