Hi all! One month to my first Disney Vacation...the countdown begins!!!!!:goodvibes
Well I was reading Buzz awsome link to CSR (thats where we are staying:banana: ) and I noticed the recreation activities at the marina listed(now mind you I've been on there 500 times and never saw it before today, go figure:confused3 ) My kids are interested in riding the paddle boat and the other boat(can't remember the name right now) that rides 8 people. Question is are these a boring activity or is it fun? The day before we leave is a no park R&R day but we are trying to plan things to do besides swimming and going to DTD. The racers are iffy at this point because so many people have commented on how sllloooowwww they are. I thought about parasailing but its not in the budget. Any info on your experience with these CSR activities would be great as we can sort of plan.Any advice on fun activities besides walking around looking at resorts would be great. BTW the kids are 14 and 15.TIA.

Can't help on the boats as we haven't done them in years. There is a sand volleyball court by the main pool if your kids are interested. You don't mention if they are boys or girls or one of each. There is a fitness center free of charge and the hot tub. I believe you can fish as well (not sure if that is still available...perhaps Buzz will chime in on that). And of course there are the bikes you can rent.

Kind of boring, given the size limitations of the lago.

You would have more fun renting at Downtown Disney, or at the Magic Kingdom-area resorts, or POR/POFQ/SSR/OKW

If you've never done them before, it fun. If you been on the larger lakes, then it may not be as fun. My daughter enjoyed it but it was her first time using the boats.

I totally agree with the Magic Kingdom rentals. Lots more water to cruise around in. You do not have to be a guest of a Magic Kingdom resort in order to rent from those places. You have both Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon to tool around in for your time.

For another activity that would be in your budget and would challenge your kids (based on their ages), check out Fantasia miniature golf. If you don't have a car, you would have to get to the Swan (take a bus from any park or Downtown Disney) and then walk across the street. The Fairways course takes about two hours (with four adults who golf), the Gardens course takes a little over an hour (same four adults).
