Two stand alone VCR's, two tv's with VCR's built into them, and a combo VCR/DVD..:)

We have DVR on 3 of our TVs but only beacuase it was a package deal. The one in our living room has the TV shows that I record regluarly, the one in the basement is for specials like sports games, awards show and other things and the one upstairs is barely ever used.

Holy smokes. We could only get 1 DVR and the rest regular receivers. It would cost way too much to run 3 DVR systems.

The thing I hate about the DVR stuff is, I can't record something then later decide to watch it while relaxing in bed. I have to watch it out where the DVR is, or mess around with running a whole bunch of wires everywhere in the house.

It was so much simpler back in the day where you only had cable and it ran to every TV without needing a receiver box for each one.

I voted other - it's a DVR but not the type that most people have. I have a portable one that's about 10 inches wide and 5 inches tall and ~1/2 inch thick. I can record TV shows on it and then watch them on the plane, in another room, in the car, etc. Here's a link: http://www.archos.com

I LOVE it! Mine is an older version; the newer model looks pretty cool!

I voted "other." We have a DVD recorder, which is like a VCR except it records to DVDs.

We also do still have a VCR, as we haven't converted everything to DVD yet, but we don't record with it anymore. Rather the opposite - we play the stuff in the VCR and record it to DVD. :)

We have dual tuner DVRs on all 3 of our TVs. We also have 2 VCRs, 1 on our TV and 1 in the kids playroom.

We have 3 DVRs-2 are Tivos and 1 is from the cable co..the cable co DVR is getting the boot as soon as our new HD Tivo comes-we ordered it the other day.
We also have a DVD recorder/player, but I've never recorded a thing on it.
A Tivo is all I need.

Two HD DVRs - so much better than sliced bread it isn't even funny. :)

an HD DVR in the living room and Tivo in the bedroom. We are thinking about getting AT&T uverse in Feb when our contract with Direct TV is up. Then we would be able to record up to four shows at once and watch them on any tv.

I have a DVR, which is mainly what I use, but I also have a DVD recorder as well as a VCR.

I have a DVR and record everything. I think I have watched a grand total of 10 commercials in the last couple of years and most of those I would seek out on YouTube. Even if I want to watch something live I let the DVR cache first so I can skip the commercials. Sports wise I watch pretty much only soccer and they don't have commercial breaks, they just have commercials at halftime so it is easy to pause the game for a bit and still watch it live.

I also watch a lot on the Internet if I didn't record it or didn't know I wanted to watch it until after the fact.

We have DVRs on the main tv (at&t uverse), the kitchen tv and the bedroom tv, the bedroom tv also has my tivo for only my shows - I love tivo and cannot get rid of it even though we have DVRs

DVR and what gets taped ranges from CSI New York to Doctor Who!

With our two TiVos, we can record something up in the loft, and watch it in the kitchen if we like. We can also transfer shows to my laptop, so we can watch television shows in airport waiting rooms, etc. We can even transfer shows to my wife's Zune.

It was so much simpler back in the day where you only had cable and it ran to every TV without needing a receiver box for each one.
It sure was. Blame your selfish neighbor, who would think nothing of tuning in channels that they weren't paying for, if they weren't locked down with encryption.

No. We never got a DVR after our VCR broke. We're not that into network TV so it's rare when we want to record a show anyway.

We have had Tivo for years but just got Comcast DVR. Can you do a season pass with the DVR?
