i recently got an old dvd from the library from the pbs american experience series about Ansel Adams...while a lot is about him as a person, some talks about his process and of course has many beautiful inspirational photos...worth an hr and 1/2 or so

This is a stretch but if you are ever in Napa Valley the Mumm Winery has a large collection of Ansel Adams prints on loan from his grandson, including some of Adams most well known photographs.

We spent quite a bit of time viewing the prints, their depth and range is amazing.
Mumm's wine and champagne is really tasty too!

Last year the George Eastman House in Rochester did a fantastic Ansel Adems called "Ansel Adams: Celebration of Genius from the George Eastman House Collection" using a lot of material from their permanent collection. There was a chronicle of his life and a lot of material that explained in detail how he painstakingly printed his photos using cardboard masks. The exhibit is now on tour. I believe is is in Scotland until April. Not sure where it goes from there.

there was an exhibit in Cleveland last summer and Savannah last fall, i missed it both places( well i could barely walk in savannah so i didn't go) but i would love to have seen it...i have seen a few of his photos before but some are simply breathtaking so i wish i had gotten to see it.( course i love B&W anyway and the scenes themselves aren't slouches either and might not look bad even with a 2yr old's disney camera, just not as good:lmao: )
