Why are some towncar companies not mentioned on this site? The one that allearsnet recommends is always edited. Is there something wrong with this provider? Usually Deb gives good recommendations on her site. I have a ressie with this company for our June trip, but I am considering canceling it if they are not reputable.

My travel agent recommended ***********. She always uses them when she goes so I'm going to give them a try!

HMMMMM. The one I mentioned was edited out also. Very weird. Wonder why? :confused3 It also won't let me add this comment on the above post by editing it.

Edited: We used one in February for a 3 way transport MCO-Resort; Resort-Port; Port-MCO and they were great. We will definitely use them again. :thumbsup2 If you care to know who they are, you can PM me. ;)

Good to hear that, that's the one we are using in June! Very clever way to post it! :thumbsup2

There are companies that are not allowed here on the DIS boards because they repeatedly refused to comply with board guidelines regarding advertising/spam. Hence the filtering. Also, be advised it is against board guidelines to try to 'get around' the filters.

We've used Murray Hill and had a very good experience. I would use them again and do not hesitate in recommending them. Marie, in their 'office,' is great.

When we stopped for groceries the store had run out of the styrofoam coolers, which were an integral part of our snacking plan. They made an extra stop for us at another store, no problem.

SO MUCH FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH
If you think what they do is bad maybe you should go out in the business world of today and see what competion is really like.

There are certain guidelines on these 'privately' owned boards that have been spelled out to everyone. If someone chooses to ignore them, then they are asked to cease posting the 'against the guidelines' posts. If they continue they are subject to banning. No freedom of speech issue here. Everyone agrees to the guidelines when they log on with a screen name. At least, that was the case for me many moons ago. If a company wishes to 'advertise' here then they may follow board guidelines and go to a webmaster and the board owner. This is not a forum for 'free' advertising. Word of mouth is terrific and most welcome. I myself have recommended several different towncar companies, travel agencies, etc. But, I do not own them!!! That is the difference.
With this, the discussion is ended. If you wish to delve further into the whole 'freedom of speech' issue, contact a webmaster. Otherwise, lets get back to appropriate discussion.

We've always been happy with Tiffany Town Cars. Prompt, friendly service.

So is the board owner in this for a profit? As in advertising? let's say from limo companies? Just curious. Don't freak out tink.

Thanks for all the replies. I just didn't want to be stranded at the airport with 2 kids in June.

No, but there is a cost of doing business in keeping something like these boards open, free of charge to us. So, other than those that have opted to be a board sponser (bronze, silver gold or platinum types) they have to fnd another way to fund the costs..so a company can advertise. There aren't a lot of 'commercial' advertisers here, which is nice. They are not in your face, making it impossible to read the boards as in other internet sites. Hope that answers your question....no freaking out here :thumbsup2

like Pooksma, we too, have always used Tiffany Town Car. They are at the baggage claim area when we arrive, holding a sign with our name on it, so they are easy for us to locate. For our return trip they are always a bit early which is nice, and we always arrive back to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Never had a problem.
Have a great trip!!!!!
