If you have recently sailed on the Fantasy (within the last 6 mos or so) would you recommend your servers? I know there is no guarantee of having the request fulfilled but we do dine in the MDR's and enjoy interacting with our servers.

We are a family of 6 and our children are older 22, 19, 16 and 14. I don't need servers who can show the kids tricks, etc since we are beyond that at this point. I would however love servers that are personable, enthusiastic and will take good care of us throughout the cruise. We are definitely not a high maintenance family, just would like genuine customer service as opposed to just going through the motions. Nothing irritates me more than the "excellent" speech. This will be our 5th cruise. Our first and third cruise server teams were excellent! Our 4th cruise server team was very good. I have absolutely no recollection of our 2nd cruise team other than the main server talking about "excellent" ratings every meal. Since our 2nd cruise, I will always let the server team know on the first evening that if they take good care of us, we will take good care of them and to not even mention the excellent speech. Usually that puts them at ease and they can go about their job without the additional stress of worrying about the rating.

There was a thread similar to this, anyway I would recommend my previous servers. Although, if I had a chance I would go for a different drink server because I thought my drink server was stiff and slightly pushy. In addition, I liked my food server. My food server's name was Adriana and she was from Croatia.

I would highly recommend DeWayne from Jamaica and Joel from Mexico. We were on the Fantasy in April. They worked so well together. DeWayne is really laid back and Joel is super sweet. He was a professional diver and when he saw one of the Disney ships in a port, he said he wanted to come work on the ship. DS14 really enjoyed all the time we spent talking with them. They never acted rushed, and made it seem like we were the only table they were serving. And bonus, they are on the same rotation that head server Witt is on, so we got to see our old friend!!

Typically, if you make a request for a server, it's best to only make one request (server OR assistant server OR head server, or even what your dining rotation is). If you request a team (server & assistant server) and the team is broken up, or not on the rotation you might have requested, DCL often won't grant either request as they don't know which is more important to you.
