As we count down the days till our March cruise, I want to get some details nailed down. We have never had problems with our server team, but some seem to come more highly rated than others. On our last cruise, two years ago, our waiter was Silvio. We loved him, but don't know if he is still aboard. What I'd like from this learned bunch are the names of server teams to request (or request transfer away from as in Suzanne's case!!!)

Tell me the names of the team and which dining rotation they serve. We will be on an Eastern itinerary, so hope to have PLA, which would put us in Lumierre's for the formal night, Sunday. This would also put us in Animator's P. on Thursday, the semi formal night and second (non-show) night in AP....and we could book Palo for that night hopefully.

Thanks in advance

Silvio!!!!!

Oh yes, what a wonderful server he is! We had him several times for lunch and he is just so attentive and interesting!! He was on the Magic during our October 25th cruise. I have a great picture of him - what a smile!

If you request a server, you must join their rotation. As servers return for another contract, they are paired up with different assistants and head servers. Therefore, you have to select just one and go with that.

For head servers, I highly recommend Maclean from India and Gaspare from Italy. Servers - Silvio, of course!, also Alex, Roberto, Andrea, Giorgio, Dante, Erwin.

Of course, there are many, many others who are OUTSTANDING and each of us veteran cruisers has a preference which is NOT a reflection on the others at all!

I am thrilled that hee seems to be still on the Magic. I will request him when we get aboard, and take whatever rotation we serves in.

He was wonderful to me two years ago. I was so sick....and we really didn't know what was wrong. I was close to death when we disembarked, and we didn't know....and that was after 2 two trips to the medical deck. This 7-day eastern will be mostly all new for me, since I saw precious little, and don't remember the things that my pictures tell me that I did see.

I was with my daughter and a friend, and Silvio made sure I was properly fed, even if didn't make it to the dining room. One afternoon he and my buddies brought me "tea" to our verandah. What a nice, nice man.

You have solved one of my planning details, but I'd still like to hear others chime in.

I am not surprised at all! (But sorry to hear you were so sick!)

Now that is exactly what makes a server special to his guests. One of the most fantastic servers was Roger from Brazil - he has long since left the Magic, but memories have remained. We had an emergency ship-to-shore call regarding our adult son hospitalized in a coma - needless to say, we were very distraught and unable to do much but make phone calls. Roger went out of his way to make sure we ate since we avoided the dining room.
(By the way, through the grace of God, our son recovered several days later, after our cruise.)

It was the kindness of this wonderful man that helped get us through this awful time. So when I value a server, compassion ranks high!

We were just on the western and had a terrific twosome of Liam from Jamaica and Beata from hungary.

They are great and felt like part of the family by then end of the first night.
