I am taking my mom to WDW for her very first trip. My DH decided to let this be a Mother/Daughter trip. I love going to Disney and was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for my mom. We are having one character meal every day of our trip. We are doing the Grand Tea at the Floridian one afternoon.

My question is...what is one thing your recommend my mom not miss while on this week long trip? We will be at Disney July 7-14th. I am thinking of doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour also. This is something I have always wanted to do.

So what else do you suggest?

Wishes. There's nothing in the world like seeing the fireworks and everything at Cinderella's Castle.

I took my mom a few years ago - she loved seeing the fireworks twice each night. We would see the ones at MK and then dart over to Epcot for the other.

We sat in the atrium at the Grand Floridian; luckily there was a wedding and we watched them get their pics taking in the lobby.

We ate at a nice restaurant every night.

She loved the Rainforest Cafe and the tanks of fish.

She loved the Animal Kingdom, especially the Safari; we did it four times in a row.

She loved the shopping, especially Epcot - we just lollygagged for hours and hours at the shops.

And last but not least, she loved sitting at the bench across from Splash Mountain - we chit-chatted for like an hour and she loved watching people come down the last drop!

LOVE Disney World trips with Mom. We usually spend a lot of time reading and swimming, which might not be helpful :-)

Keys to the Kingdom is a great idea; I've always been interested in Behind the Seeds at Epcot as well.

Other ideas are booking a fireworks cruise (407-wdw-play for reservations 90 days in advance), which is what I did for Mom for her birthday a few years back!

Maybe spa treatments? Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs have full service spas, and most deluxe resorts offer some sort of massage packages.

My mom LOVES Typhoon Lagoon, so that might be fun for you guys.

La Nouba?

Also, you can contact Disney to have something fun and chocolatey delivered to your room, or have a specialty cake made for her at one of the restaurants you're attending. :-)
