Which restaurants would you recommend for the four of us for dinner (kids are 8 year old son and 6 year old dtr)? We are trying to decide between Norway Storybook (we already have reservations for Cinderella's castle for lunch - not sure if we really need two princess meals), Japan, Garden Grill, or Coral Reef? We are considering cost and value as we are not on the dining plan. Thanks for your help.

Hi, Garden Grill has the Characters, not sure if that is what you want?? Japan would be a GREAT choice since they put on a "show"while they prepare your food. Coral Reef is also a good choice for the "view"and has gotten some GREAT reivews lately. You may want to check out the menus and price out what you would be spending?? You could also do a "late" lunch as lunch is cheaper than dinner. Joan

We just recently ate at the Coral Reef for lunch. We were not too impressed. It was a fun meal, we even had a diver for our DD's bday, but the food was just ok, and we waited 45 minutes past our ADR time just to be seated. Service the whole meal was pretty slow. We were in the restaurant for close to 3 hours! The dinner menu looks good with the crab legs, but we probably won't be eating there again for a while. Garden Grill: never tried it, but heard from a few friends that the character interaction is great, food is OK, not great. If you are looking for characters, this would be a fun place. Japan is fun, food is pretty good. Norway- never ate there for dinner, wasn't impressed with the breakfast. Character interaction with the princesses was pretty good, but since you are doing CRT I'd personally try something else. We love San Angel Inn in Mexico; it is beautiful inside, and if you like Mexican you could give that a try. Our favorite in Epcot is LeCellier. Great service, steaks to die for, and fun desserts. My kids enjoyed it, too. That would be my recommendation. Hope this helps a little!

Garden Grill or Coral Reef. We did the lunch in Norway and did not care for the food (except the cold items on the buffet).

My hubby and I ate there with our 2 kids (9 and 4) and we just LOVED it! The kids menu was even pretty good. We had the dining plan so I dont remember what the prices were like. We will be making our ADR for Coral Reef for our next trip!:cheer2:

My 19 yo son and I ate at Coral Reef on Sunday, so here's our experience --We waited 20 minutes past our 1:30 ADR time before we were seated, and we were seated on the 3rd tier in about the middle of the back wall and couldn't see much detail in the fish tanks, which was a disappointment. Our waitress was either very new or very bored, because she interacted with us a little as she possibly could. And the restaurant was LOUD!!!! I've been in McDonald's for childrens birthday parties that were quieter. The food was very good, but also very pricey even at lunch -- the lunch price for the strip steak was $25.99! My son had chicken at $18.99, and a sour apple frozen drink which was $3.99. We did get some delicious bread to start out, and we shared a chocolate wave dessert ($7.99) which was both beautiful and scrumptious. With tax, our total was about $61 for two adults. We didn't see the children's menu, which would obviously make the cost more reasonable for children, but you could easily spend $85-100 there for four with just entrees, drinks and dessert for all. Hope that all helps in your decision making...

Beirgarden?

it's buffet, so it's not too pricey. Usually pretty well liked by adults and kids. Kids get the oompah dancers, adults get the big ol' beers.
