looking for recommendations for a cat tree/condo,70" or higher.Something sturdy that won't fall apart after 1 year.
Thanks

We bought this one in oak a few years ago and it's holding up great. One thing we love is the ability to replace the carpet fairly easily if you want. We buy doormats in different designs that match our decor. Our cat loves our bookshelves so this has really helped keep her down from those, an added bonus. She's not a big nester, she has a heated pet bed for that, so if you're looking for a tree that has cubbies, it might not be the best. But if you want a platform that's perfect for your cat to sun their buns, she can attest, it's perfect!

You mean purrrrfect? ;)

I just went for a cheap one thinking we'd be replacing it in a year. It's lasted 10 years so far. The cats haven't clawed it much but they love the 2 hide holes and the 2 places to lay on top.

So don't discount those cheap ones - they do work great.

We bought one once that was about seven feet tall and weighed about 150 lbs. It was delivered by a freight truck and he wouldn't bring it into the house, so my husband and I had to wrangle it inside. We donated it to a cat rescue when we were going to move. Luckily a young guy with a pickup truck came to pick it up. It lasted a long time.

Check them out on Drs. Foster and Smith. I have several cat trees/condos from them and the quality is great.

We bought a nice, heavy weight one at Costco two years ago. The quality is good and it has held up nicely. Our cats enjoy it.

We made our own 4 foot tall cat tree, with $3 worth of wood from Habitat Restore and leftover carpeting we had in the basement. Our cat loves it.

Costco has a huge, nice cat tree right now for around $70.

Our cat likes to look out our bedroom window while sitting on a hope chest which is the perfect height. In around 10 days we'll be getting new bedroom furniture and won't have space for the chest anymore but we will have space for this:

It isn't big or fancy but she is almost 17 years old and we just want her to have a happy place to look out the front window and people watch. I was afraid something really big might be too intimidating for her. Like putting an 85 year old on Space Mtn.
It's due to arrive next Saturday so I'll let you know if she likes it. :hourglass

I never did return here to follow up on my last post. She did love that small cat tree.
Sadly, our beloved kitty of 18 years passed away last May. It was so quiet and empty in our house afterward and our older son couldn't stand it. Within 2 days he was looking at kittens at our local animal orphanage. I really don't want another 20 year commitment to be scooping kitty litter at 77 so we agreed our next adoption will be his and when he moves out some day, he will take them with him. This time we adopted 2 kittens, littermates, so they would have a buddy and are already well acquainted. They just turned 1. :lovestruc:cat::cat:

We got them this big tree and they have been loving it since they were tiny and could barely jump from one level to the next. The dangling balls have been destroyed. He keeps buying more and they just love them like crazy. We still have the old, shorter tree at our home office window so they can watch the birds and squirrels.
