Is there a better deal than getting two rooms for 4 adults and one kid? Looking for value or moderate hotels

You technically could get a 5 person room at a mod. It would be tight and I think you may have to pay an extra fee for 1 or 2 of the adults.

You could look at renting points for DVC. Many times the larger rooms are less than 2 moderate rooms overall.

I would price out 5th sleeper rooms at POR and CBR, family suites at AoA and ASMu and 2 rooms at the values to see which offers the best deal. Two vale rooms would offer you the most real beds.

I think it depends on your family dynamics when you choose between two rooms at a value and one anywhere else. It really is not just about money but space and how your normally live.

We travel as extended family and we share space, but we are used to doing this and we can manage quite well for the most part. I woudl never share a room with anyone I normally did not travel with no matter how much money was involved.

If you cost out rooms that sleep 5, I htink that the Riverside and Caribbean Beach are your best values. The Cabins in Fort WIlderness are more money but offfer more room. I know the suites will accomodate the 5 people, however I cannot comment on the sleeping surfaces, I htink some are pullout couches.

Did you consider the family suites at of a value like All-Star music? a previous poster suggested that and I think it's worth a look. It's an option my family is considering going with on our next trip

We were looking at options (we are a group of 14 with mainly adults) and we found that the suites or larger rooms could be more than double of one room, so it really just made sense to get two rooms. Plus, in any of the rooms designed to sleep more people, it seemed like someone was always on a sleeper sofa. Just not worth the cost.

I'd stick with the two rooms.

Assuming the 4 adults are two couples (either very close friends or maybe two of the adults are siblings +spouses) and the child is the offspring of one of the couples...
If budget is a concern I would get two value or moderate rooms. I think it would just be too tight to share a room.
My advice would be different if the "4 adults" are two parents, and their offspring who are 18 and 19 years old, plus the 5 year old...

Are the adults willing to forego their privacy, share a bathroom, etc? If so, a 5th sleeper room is fine. As others have said, the relationship between the people is what will make or break this. In most situations, I suggest separate rooms for adult couples however, but there are a few scenarios where it might work.

Honestly, with four adults, I’d want real beds for everyone and two bathrooms. Family suites and AOA suites won’t get you two real beds...one pair of adults will need to be ok with a sofa bed. If it works for you, it’s a great option for being close together (it’s not necessarily cheaper than two value rooms, but connecting rooms aren’t guaranteed, and a family suite solves that issue). Moderate rooms that sleep five only have one bathroom (and would be a really, really tight fit). Otherwise, I’d look off property for better deals, because two value rooms on site are really the best deal there is.

This is key: how are you related and how comfortable are you sharing space? I would never suggest a test on a disney vacation. I love my son and DDIL but there is no way on this Good Earth we could or would share space on a vacation, however my DD and DSIL lived with us while they saved for thir own home, and we could easily share a room.

If you have any reservations, book two values. The rooms are clean and and you have a door that closes out the rest of the World.

I agree with the two values option. We used to travel with my parent to WDW. Having 2 rooms side by side or even connecting was perfect for us. Of course, one of my kids always ended up sleeping in my parents' room. If the child goes to sleep earlier, the adults could hang in the second room if it's a connecting one. Plus, this gives the opportunity to take a little break from each other if needed.

You didn't give the age of the child or the relationship of the four adults, but for sanity and maximum comfort, not to mention privacy, I would opt for two rooms. A trip to WDW is always stressful and everyone needs a quiet place to relax. :)

We have been a family of five for over 20 years- prefer deluxe because our 6’3 son had a little challenge sleeping on POR wall bed (54 inches)...Deluxe rooms are bigger and most have daybed (except AKL or WL)...but with the child just being 5- that pull down bed at POR Alligator Bayou is so cute!!! Pirate beds at CBR also has a pull down...art of Animation would sleep you all- but our kids prefer the comfort of the bigger beds at Deluxe and convenience- LOVED Contemporary- walking to MK was awesome! Loved Poly for the ‘feel’..doing Yacht Club next- we are never in the rooms- schedule shower times- we have 2 morning and 2 night and one that thinks a dip in the pool counts. 😂😂 if you don’t mind full sized beds do moderate- if you need queen size- do deluxe

This! We are most likely doing deluxe the majority of our trip due to us having 5 people. The fold down couch bed in a deluxe is more comfortable than a pullout bed, and you also get the two queen beds. We prefer a deluxe room over two value rooms. We might try a mod for a couple days because we have kids in our group, if you don’t, a deluxe is the way to go.
