Hubby surprised us with 8 days at Animal Kingdom Lodge this December! I am super excited but kinda stressed because we have to make reservations soon. I'm the kind of person who needs a long time to consider options. lol

Anyways, what would you recommend for restaurants for 3 and 7 year old? The three year old is turning 3 while we are there, so very young three.

The only thing I know for sure we want to do is Tusker House breakfast and daughter wants to go to Akershus. Open to any suggestions! Thanks!

We have been going since our kids were 5ys, 3ys, and 6mos. Our oldest is now 10yrs. Some of our favorite restaurants are:
Chef Mickey's
The Crystal Palace
Tusker House
Akershus
Hollywood & Vine
50s Prime Time Cafe
Rainforest Cafe
Cosmic Rays (QS)
Electric Umbrella (QS)
Restaurantosaurus (QS)
Pinocchio Village Haus (QS)
ABC Commissary (QS)

Hope this helps. Have a great time!

Tusker House is just as good, if not better, at lunch, but at least you're hitting that place. Also, Akershus is my favorite place - the breakfast is just ok and normal, but the lunch here is incredibly good. You'll love it!!!

1900 Park Faire at the Grand FL is good food with a great experience with the characters - maybe the best on property.

Chef Mickey's is always a good dinner spot with lots of kid's choices and great character interaction.

Try getting the Fantasmic! Dinner package at Hollywood & Vine as they have a good buffet for kids and adults.

Crystal Palace is a great place, too, for characters and good food.

I would definitely avoid dark places. 2/3yo kids have a built in capacity to ruin any meal in a dark place as I've found out over the years. Places that fit this bill: SciFi Diner, Le Cellier, San Angel, Mama's Melrose, the Luau at the Polynesian. I've had pretty tough experiences with my normally well-behaved kids. Keep it bright and happy and they'll make life better for you while you eat.

Biergarten in Epcot is great for kids too. Seen as your in AKL Boma is a must, love that place :)

How fun! We will be at the lodge right before you!:)
When we were there in Dec my kids were 3&4 and here is what they enjoyed:

At AK:
Tusker House (TS)
Rainforest Cafe (TS)

At HS:
Starring Rolls Cafe for a cupcake
Hollywood and Vine with Disney Jr characters for breakfast (TS)

AT MK:
Cinderella's Royal Table (2TS)
Be Our Guest (lunch is QS, dinner TS)
Cosmic Ray's (QS)
Tomorrowland Terrace (QS)
Tortunga Tavern (QS)
Pinocchio Village Haus (QS)

At Epcot:
Coral Reef (TS)

At Downtown Disney:
T-REX (TS)
Wolfgang Express (QS)

Also, my kids LOVED Ohana at the Polynesian. We are going back in November.
