Hi all...we're thinking about going down the first week of June w/friends who have never been...we are a family or 3, dd is 9; the other family are close friends and have dd, 9 (our dd's bf) and 2 ds - 15 and 13, plus the 2 adults.

Do you think a 2-bedroom would work? We're looking at OKW, SSR, and Boardwalk (I haven't checked for ressies yet, but let's assume we have our pick) - which would you recommend?

Thanks for your help!

OKW will give you the most space. The boys can share a bed in the parent's room, and the two girls could share the sofa bed in the living room. The other choice would be to put an air bed in each of the rooms for the girls if you want access to the living room at all times. Another choice is to put your DD on an air bed in the laundry room (yes, it's big enough).

With 8, OKW is definitely the best. The others will feel crowded. I'd recommend exactly what Diane recommended, other than putting anyone in the laundry room (it's for laundry, not sleeping - plus if anyone in the living room needs to use the toilet - for Bldg 30 and higher - they have to go through the bedroom or step over the sleeper).

Thanks - that's what I was looking for! The laundry room's that big, huh... ;) Good idea about access to the living room, maybe we could stick both girls in our room. I'm the sole earlier riser of the group.

Thanks again!!!

Others have answered your question I just wanted to tell you that the first week in June is Gay Week or at least it has been in the past. This may or may not be an issue with you.

The traditional Gay Day schedule is:

Thursday, May 31, AK
Friday, June 1, Studios
Saturday, June 2, MK (the most crowded event dring public park hours)
Sunday, June 3, Epcot, or Universal/IOA

Pretty much over by Monday, June 4

And it hasn't been a problem with us either time we went in early June.

I'm not exactly sure why Gay week would be of concern. You don't need to participate in any event you aren't part of.

I think it is just a point to make the same as if you said *it is Pop Warner Week* or National Cheerleading. For some people special event times are not when they want to visit.

FWIW our next trip is during Gay Week and my only hope is that maybe it will be mostly gay men so the women's restroom lines are short!

Oh - the cheerleader thing...DD and I will be down there during that! scared1 I was trying to figure out where they won't be but just ended up at Pop. DD is a cheerleader but we won't be there for the event - we have, however, stayed at many hotels with those excited, energetic folk...

Thanks for the info on Gay week. I was down there once during Gay week w/DD and it was awesome! Not to promote a stereotype but the crowds there were the most considerate that we've encountered. :thumbsup2

Back to the topic - we got the room at OKW, requested nonsmoking and a top floor - leaving the location to chance/luck/good fortune.

Not everything is an issue. I read that the same as saying "it's Jersey week that week". (Jersey week IS as issue with me - not that there is anything wrong with being from Jersey) :wink
