Hi All -
We're going to Universal in August for a few days, and then onto Miami for a cruise. On our day of arrival, we don't get into Orlando until 10:00pm. I'm reconsidering staying at our hotel (RPH) for that first night due to potential cost savings and the fact that we're arriving so late. We're a family of 7 (kids 11-18) and need 2 rooms. Cost of staying at Doubletree (at Universal Entrance) is $80/room/night and cost of RPH is $159/room/night.
This is what I'm considering, but don't know how feasible it is:
Can't decide if this is worthwhile or just a great big hassle. I guess I'm just not sure how easy it would be for me to drop off the car and get back over to RPH.
Our current plan is to get transportation from the airport (i.e. no rental car) to RPH.

- Arrive MCO at 10:05, pickup rental car
- Stay at either Holiday Inn Express or Doubletree at Universal
- Pack up everyone, drop off DH and kids at RPH for check-in while I bring car back to HIE or Doubletree (there is a rental car drop off)
- Walk or take taxi back to RPH to meet up with family and get over to park by 10:30??
