OK, I love planning my vacations and have already done lots of research for Disney. This will be my first trip. Can anyone recommend a good travel agent for a Disney first timer? I'm not really sure I should use one or not as I check these boards daily for discounts and various other info. What I'm somewhat concerned about is making dinner reservations and possibly our resort reservation. Both my DH and I work full time so it might be difficult spending a lot of time on the phone making reservations, besides that I'd really hate to leave it up to my DH! :rotfl:

Sorry for rambling, just trying to figure out if I should use a TA or not.

We used Small World Vacations that we found on mousesaver.com last year. Great people and wonderful service. They ended up saving us $800.00 after changing our original AAA discount two times as better deals came out. Also made all our priority seatings for us. It's great not having to phone Disney and waste all that time on the phone. They took care of everything but the flights which we did on the internet. I would certainly recommend them. Can't get better service....especially since it's free.

ps.....I am with you about being too busy to worry about codes, discounts, etc. I'll let Small World take care of us from now on. Check out their web site at WDWVacations.com.

This is the first time we are using an agent and it is really only because they got us a great deal on our December trip, Magical Memories Travel.
We haven't gone yet- but everything had been incredibly personal that we have recieved, great deals, and they are very patient with me (I ask a lot of questions!). Their quote was incredibly detailed and I heard from them promptly and had emailed back in forth twice before I had heard back from other agencies I had asked a quote from! They also ordered our MMVCP tickets for us and our park passes, behind the scenes Yuletide Tour, and dining arrangements when the time comes. Assuming everything works out as well as it has begun... we will use them again without hesitation!
I am just so thrilled with our WL rate in December I cannot stop talking about it! Most think I am nuts who don't "get" the Disney Experience, so I post about it here! :rotfl:

we're using Magical Memories Travel as well... and LOVING the service i am receiving! our agent (one of the owners) is amazing and so incredibly well-informed and helpful and answers questions before i even ask them! also on top of every discount, code, rate, possible cost saving scenario... which just amazes me! LOL!

to the OP, pm me if you'd like her email or web addy :)

Using DU myself and its been great, I got more than one estimate, have my split stay all booked and have already given her all my requests for my meals while I'm gone.

My neighbor is using them as well (we have two different agents) and she is also have a great experience.

Good luck whichever company you chose!

Small World Vacations is great. I have been dealing with Deanna there and she is very responsive to all my questions. Defeinitely worth booking through them not only for the best rates, but because its someone who can honestly answer your every question.

I am using Magical Memories also. Great lady I am working with cause I harassed her yesterday after I discovered the AP rates came out. She was so patient with me!

Really nice people and they are saving me lots of time money and frustration!

We use Cruise Planners/Micore Travel -- www.planmycruise.com. They are disney experts and have saved me a ton of money over the years. Give them a try . You will deal with a live person, and they are VERY knowledgeable.

Magical Vacations.

So far I have never heard anything bad about them and I was very happy using them. Very fast and accurate response.

Aloha

uh oh, you too?! i hope we're not both harrassing the same great lady! LOL! :rotfl:

We love Jean from Your Magical Journeys. Their entire agency is prompt, efficient and knowlegable. They have saved me a ton of money over the years.

(agency name removed, per webmaster request, but not DU) - they only do Disney, and have always saved me a ton of money, helped me get my PS's (AR's!), and always responded very quickly with great advice.

We used Keith Anderson from www.Mouseketrips.com .. they are registered with WDW. They are very responsive and great to work with! We used them back in 03 when the fairytale package was available and will be using them again in October '05. I highly recommend them!

Another vote for Magical Memories here! I've used them for my last couple of trips and have had nothing but outstanding service and attention to detail! I've actually used 2 different agents there and had the same great results either way. They even secured CRT for our party of 16! They've always saved me money. Earlier this year I did not have an AP and was not staying long enough to justify the purchase. When it became apparant that there would be no non-AP codes out my agent took the time to first call and check to see if a AAA rate was available, find out how much membership in AAA would cost and get in touch with me to recommend that I join AAA to save. I gave her the OK and she took care of everything. She applied the code then signed me up for AAA and ordered my card. Saved me around $200 to do that as well! She didn't have to do all of that leg work but she did! Both agent's I've worked with were incredibly thorough. No stock quotes, they put some thought in to it!

I would highly recommend either of the agents I've used there!

I've used Magical Journeys as well and have had good luck with saving money and they were always knowlegeable and courteous, I just switched because I wanted someone to do my PS (or ARs now I guess!) for me as well and they don't do that. I was happy with them each time but I think Magical Memories puts a little more detail into their work and they will do PSs too!

We were at WDW this past April. It was our first time using a internet travel agent. Everything went so smoothly. I would recommend MouseEarVacations.com to everyone. Our agent Pam is terrific. She can make all arrangements for you(resort, tickets, transportation and dining reservations). She replied very quickly with any questions I had.

Have Fun planning!

Another vote for Magical Journeys. I have used them for 3 trips now and have nothing but praise for them. I would reccommend them to anyone :Pinkbounc

I'll want to use someone who will make PS/ARs, so it looks like Magical Journeys is out. How about the others, will they make PS/ARs. I've already decided I won't go with AAA. Seems they are always behind on the codes according to the reports I've been reading on these boards
