I usually go for the cheapest hotels but they all seem similarly priced so please let me know what you recommend in terms of convenience, comfort and meal options etc - thank you! :)

Premier Inn is my favourite. Comfi beds, nice bar to relax in, friendly staff, great breakfast (although we like to go to the airport & usually a decent price. We stayed last year for £29 in a family room. Also it's just around the corner from the airport so not much in a taxi.

Radisson Blu is our favourite.

There's a full service restaurant and a quick bar food type place. Rooms are comfy and amazingly quiet.

It's also in the airport so you can actually roll out of bed and walk under cover to the terminal - a couple of minutes walk along the powered walkway :) the room and parking deals are good too. It's incredibly convenient.

The Hilton is also good - again, comfy and quiet - only one quick food place but the food was good quality. I think they also have a restaurant. They offer a shuttle to the airport every 20 mins.

The other hotels are a bit further out, but cheaper. If you just want somewhere to rest your head and don't mind a taxi the next morning then Premier Inn is good.

I wouldn't recommend Bewleys - pretty cheap, but it attracts the hen and stag do types, so it's very rowdy.

Another vote for Radisson Blu - staying there in a couple of weeks.

As said, right next to the terminal, so you can walk all under cover from the hotel to the terminal. Also convenient for the train station if you are travelling by train (we are).

Has a swimming pool too.

I'm a third for Radisson Blu. I like that its connected so you don't have to worry about the British weather :rotfl:

Another for the radisson blu...this sept will be our third time, and when I was booking the nights stay and parking for our trip to Florida for our wedding anniversary they upgraded our room! :cool1:

I like the Crowne Plaza, its very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
However due to necessity we're staying at the Radisson next time.
We did stay there in March, however the room was tired and wasn't the cleanest we've stayed in. We also found some of the staff rude, thankfully we didn't have to interact with them too much. It is very convenient and that was the most important thing for us. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Bewleys last time and have just re booked for next time as they sent us a special offer. I would love to stay at the radisson may be the time after next. ;)

For cheapness you cannot beat Premier Inn. We stayed there before we travelled and it was great. £29 per room and a good value breakfast in the morning if you choose to have one, plus kids under 16 eat free. We stayed in the Premier Inn Ft, and it was opposite the airport, just over the road.:thumbsup2

Radisson Blu every time for us. It is just so much more convenient than any of the off airport choices. Family rooms are great (basically a double room connected to to twin room), both with en suite. The airport views are cool too.

I would say though that the restaurant is expensive. Priced at a captive audience I suppose.

thank you everyone - I'll be booking in the next week or two so I'll see how much between Radisson and the others and try to go for there if possible :)

I wanted to stay at the Radisson but when I saw that the premier inn (Runger Lane North) was £29 we went with that. We had already booked meet and greet car parking separately. I think I'll be too excited to sleep wherever I am!

We have stayed at Bewleys, Radissn and Crowne Plaza. Just booked CP again for £44 for our next holiday :rotfl2:
