Recommend a stroller for a larger child?

The First Years Ignite stroller. Goes to 50 pounds, reclines enough for my son to nap, nice parent cup holder with zippered pocket, small side pockets that fit my kids' cups and/or snacks, easy to maneuver, folds/unfolds quickly, my DH at 6'3 is comfortable pushing the stroller as am I at 5'6".

ETA: Also has a decent size basket for an umbrella stroller.

I bought this stroller for our Aug '10 trip. DS was almost 5 at the time and this stroller worked great for us. I am 5'4" and DH is 6'2"and it worked for both of us. We have used strollers before that the handles were so low that it broke our backs to push around. This stroller wasn't like that. It was a great price at around 50$.

I'd only get red-faced after pushing 45+ pounds around all day, so I'd take a lightweight, uncomfortable, cheap umbrella stroller. That way, I'd know the kid really needed to be in a stroller if he'd be willing to be scrunched up and very uncomfortable! Also, it would be much easier to haul on and off buses, wouldn't take up too much space in the room, etc. We used generic ones from Walmart, but my youngest (the only one to use a stroller at WDW) didn't weigh 45 pounds until she was 8-9 years old, and wouldn't have used a stroller at that point.

Most of the lightweight, cheap strollers say they go up to 40 lbs. If the child will not be in it all that much, it will be fine for 45 lbs. They cost about $15 at Walmart, and they have Disney ones.

I definitely agree. I took cheap umbrella strollers for my daughter to use for years. Although they are listed for 45 pounds, she used it (only at Disney) until she was 6 or 7 and was 60 or 70 pounds. Since the usage is so short in duration, being over the listed weight never broke the stroller and even if it did, we could have run to get another one at Walmart.

It was great to use in crowds and also in the evenings when we were leaving the parks or whenever she was tired of walking. It was also easy to fold up to get on and off the resort busses.
