Recommend a nice public beach near KSC

Can anybody recommend a nice public beach near KSC? With rough directions? Thanks

I went to Cocoa Beach this past visit. Just follow 528 from Orlando to the the Ron Jon surf shop and you are there. Ron Jon has free parking, but I paid $3 and parked closer to the beach near the public bathrooms and showers.

Cocoa Beach is nice and then there is New Smyrna Beach and Daytona too.

We went to New Symnra and cocoa beach last august and thought NS was much more family oriented. Less congested area.
