We just booked the first two nights of our trip next July at the Dolphin using the teachers discount. The $129 a night sure beat the rate at the YC for the regular season, so we thought we'd try it before moving over to the YC.

I joined the Starwoods preferred guest program, and gave them my #. I also requested a renovated non smoking standard room. Since they are working on the 7th floor right now, by July they should be almost done. So I think my chances are very good of getting a newly done room. I asked for the 7th floor, but I really don't have anything to go on. I have heard some say the East wing is good, or the West wing is better.

Is there a good location to request, ie a floor, a wing, any special wording? Are the upper floors warmer, or noisier or what? Any information is appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance!!:scratchin:

East wing is Epcot view, west wing is closer to the pool and I believe you might have MGM view from that corner. You're in Mickey's backyard... great view everywhere! I stayed at the Swan and we never heard a thing outside of our room unless the door was open. It is a very quiet resort hallway/room noise wise. I would ask for a renovated room as my #1 request.

Have a wonderful trip!

So, you'll be trying the Dolphin! We might be doing the same for our trip next summer, unless Disney decides to give out some nice discounts. ;)

Anyways, I've always heard to request an Epcot view. I think it's either lake view or resort view, not sure. :) Happy planning!

We've stayed in both the east and west wings. I do like them both but like the west wings a little better. If you request as far down at the end of the hall as possible you will have a clear view of the fireworks as long as you face east, of course.

But, what I do like is when you hop on the elevator you can get off right at Tubbi's. This is very convenient if you have a refillable mug and you can head right out to catch the boat or bus. Otherwise you have a long walk to these places from the east wing. You're also a quick walk to the pool.

Last Dec. we were lucky enough to have an end room in the inner west wing with a torret balcony right over the clam fountain. That room was amazing!

I know Cali, I almost feel like a traitor not staying the entire time at the YC!!:guilty: But, we figured for two nights at that price, we'd give it a go. If Disney comes up with a great package or great codes though, this will be a mute point...we'll be at the YC!:boat:

I can't remember which room we had, but we requested an Epcot view and got it. We did not have a balcony (next time!), but it was awesome turning off our lights and watching illuminations from our room!

We're doing the same thing as you! We're staying at the Dolphin for 2 nights before we check into the BCV, it'll be our first time there.

I didn't make any requests because I got our room though Hotwire.

I hope we both love the Dolphin!

Just curious, when are you going, and what rate did you get through Hotwire? Thanks!:wave2:
