Recipe Help- How to Steam Potatoes

I need some help please!

I need to steam 3 potatoes....but I do not have a steamer. Is it possible to do this in the microwave or using anything else? How would I go about doing this?!

I have never steamed a potato, but maked baked potatoes in the microwave all the time... 16-22 minutes for 3/4 normal size potatoes...

You could do them in the microwave but be sure to poke holes in the skins if you don't want an enormous mess. I probably wouldn't microwave them because it might be hard to get the texture you're looking for. You could also put some water in a pan but don't cover them in water, and cook with the lid on so they are basically steam cooked, but do be careful that you don't end up cooking the pan dry.

The recipe says I need to steam 3 potatoes then they're going in the pan with the chicken and baking.

If you are roasting them with chicken, baking them in the oven or micro will make them too dry. You can make a steamer though if you have aluminum foil and a covered sauce pan.

Just wad up a few balls of foil so they are a little bigger than a golf ball and cover the bottom of the pan with them, place the potatoes on top of the foil balls and fill the pan with water to almost the top of the foil balls. Cover, bring to a boil and steam until the potatoes are fork tender.

Are they talking about new potatoes, red potatoes, the little small potates? I can't imagine steaming the big, oblong, baking potatoes. They would take forever to steam. It would be quicker to boil the long ones, leave them slightly undercooked and let them finish cooking while baking with the chicken.
