Up in Canada, the Mandarin chinese food restaurant has a wonderful strawberry sauce. It is not a sweet syrupy one, but i want something that is a thicker not to sweet sauce. Any suggestions?

I have made a strawberry sauce for a dessert, but not for Chinese food...

Just puree the strawberries in the food processor or blender then strain them to get out the seeds. You can add a little powdered sugar if you need to.

I would use that as a base, and perhaps add a little soy sauce or other Oriental sauce to spice it up a bit?

Good luck.

thank you, i wondered how long it will last in fridge? did you cook the berries? Fresh or Frozen?

I think fresh or frozen would work. And no cooking is required!

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Not sure how long it would keep in the refrigerator -- I would guess about as long as fresh fruit? But I don't see why you couldn't freeze the sauce, if it's just fruit and sugar.

I puree raspberries all the time for a sauce. I add a small amount of sugar, and also lemon juice to cut the sweetness and it will also help to preserve it. It keeps forever! I put it in the fridge and pour it on all kind of things. Yum.

ohh sounds good, will have to try that!:yay:
