My son bought a fancy camera but it takes regular batteries. I was going to buy rechargeable batteries for our upcoming trip but then saw the lithium batteries. Which ones do you think would be better for a camera.
I have had a digital camera for years now. IMHO, I love the lithium. The rechargeable never worked that great for us. We did lithium the last trip to WDW and it worked out great! I took a spare set with us to the parks and never ran out of battery!
I recommend you or your son look at the book that cames with the camera ans go with those batteries.
My camera came with a rechargeable battery, it won't run right without the right battery. His camera might "eat" the rechargeables and do fine with the lithium/regular batteries.
If by "regular batteries" you mean AA alkaline batteries, then rechargeables all the way.
I paid $5 for 4 Rayovac NiMH 2500 batteries at Walmart (not including charger, already had one.) I bought 2 sets. My camera takes 4 AA batteries. I can run it for 2 solid days barring I am not using the flash which I never do.
I don't do photography much any more since I've far outgrown the camera and can't afford a dSLR, so it just sits around mostly. I probably haven't charged the batteries in 6 months. My kids do steal the camera often though and shoot a lot of video with it.
I love the Lithium batteries for my camera. I used to go through batteries like crazy with regular alkaline AA. As soon as I switched to the ultimate lithium, it feels like we can take pictures forever.
I tried rechargeable batteries but I was not responsible enough to always keep a set charged all the time. I know it works for most, just not me.
In my experience, lithium batteries last much longer. Rechargeable batteries sound great, 'cause you think "Oh I can just recharge them!" but the more times you have to do that, the less longer they last when you use them. :\
I bought one set of 4 AA and the charger and my camera takes 2 AA, and I have another 2 for spares. Even with a whole day at the park taking photos and movie clips of parades/fireworks, etc. I never ran out. Still going strong after years.
When they eventually don't retain their charge I can buy another pkg for about $15.
