Reception Timings

Hi everyone. Just wondered if anyone can let me know about timings for your reception. Our wedding is at 12.00pm and our reception is at Whitehall, our contract says we have the room and patio from 1.00pm till 5.00pm. What time did you have speeches and food served, Characters arrive etc? Thanks for your help x

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!

I am not having a wedding on-site, but I am planning on doing my first dances, speeches, and then dinner, followed by the cake cutting. I want to try to get all of the wedding "must-dos" early on in the night to make sure the photographer doesn't miss any moments or any of the guests either, and after that people are free to celebrate and dance without having to stop and watch something, and then go back to the dance floor.

I just wasn't sure if Disney have a set time/schedule for the reception. Am trying to decide on a buffet or sit down meal also!

This was my timeline for my 12pm wedding:

0800-1100 Bride/MoB Hair/Makeup
1000-1030 Randy Chapman arrives for getting ready pictures
1030-1100 Groom pictures at Boardwalk
1100 Groom transported to Wedding Pavilion
1100-1145 Bride pictures at Grand Floridian
1145-1200 Bride transported to Ceremony
1200-1230 Ceremony
1230-1245 Staged Exit
1245-1330 Bride/Groom Portraits at Wedding Pavilion & Beach Club
1300-1400 Pre-reception
1400-1430 Introductions/eat prereception food & first dance & Mother/Son dance
1430-1530 Lunch
1530-1545 Cut cake/mickey premium bars
1545-1615 The Mouse arrives/Pictures with every family (this was cute bc people had mickey bars in their hand when Mickey arrived, very cute photo ops!)
1630-1800 Reception
1800 Happily Ever After
