If you had a reception around the World Showcase Lagoon, did you do the dances (first dances, father daughter dance, mother son dance etc.)? If you did, how (since you can't have music)? If not, do you regret not doing it?

I love the idea of the reception being outside in EPCOT, have seen really nice pics. But I'm unsure about the whole traditional dance thing. My fiance and I are not big dancers so it really wouldn't matter to us about dancing but for family it might.

I would just love some input. TIA ;)

Well, you are allowed to have music there after the park is cleared of guests. It's just that it could be hours before that happens, so for all intents and purposes, you can't have music at those locations. But depending on how long your reception is, maybe you'd be there late enough that you could do first dances at the very end of the night.

As someone who didn't have dancing at her (Attic) reception but did do first dances, I have to say they were one of the highlights of the reception for me. My dance with my dad was the most quality time we spent together at the wedding, and he said some things I'll always remember. Plus, DH and his mom brought the house down as they invented some kind of wacky rhumba to The Muppets' "Movin' Right Along"! :rotfl:
