Recently returned from the POLY - 8/22 - 8/29

Thank you for writting that amaizing trip report and after reading it I must say it sounded like you're whole family had a great time. I also would like to say those were some amaizing pictures you took and after seeing them it get's me even more excited for my families 1st stay at the Polynesian this December.

Maybe it was the same lizard you saw , we never caught him. I told DH to catch him and put him outside but he said he didn't know where it went. Poly withdrawl is the worst. My DS and DD loved your pics too!

Thanks for the fantastic review! I am heading down 2 weeks from today with my whole family. This is our first time staying on Disney property! We orignally had Animal Kingdom booked for our trip, but after thinking about it, we didn't want to be too far away from MK and Epcot! I am super stoked about our reservations at the Poly, especially after reading reviews like yours!

Hey MsStinkerBelle, we were practically neighbors briefly that week. We were in 1607 Samoa from 8/17-8/25. We had the ducks come up to our room as well and I told the kids the same thing. "Don't feed them"

I really liked the samoa building great location and access to the pool. Great Pics, I had a great time just walking around the resort and snapping away.

Great trip report. One of the best I have EVER read on these boards.

We were there August 8-19; in Samoa 3rd floor Rm 3603. Looking at the pool. I think we took the same pictures. The picture we took with Auntie Kaui is hanging in our living room.

We have already booked our trip for August 2008 at the POLY.

for Pming me the link to your TR at the Poly. Your pictures were just lovely, I too liked the night shots of the pool. It's makes me and my whole family super excited to get there...too sad it's still over 8 months But I'm still excited that we're actually going to be staying at the Poly for the first time! TR's like yours really make it feel like the best choice. One of the resons for us too is that our DS 8 is on the spectrum too and we wanted a relaxing resort close to MK and Epcot and all the fun things we want to do.

We requested ground or 3rd (so we have outdoor access) in either Saoma or Raratonga. (Read my PTR-TR) to see how it pans out for us.

In your many stays there, have you eaten at Kona Cafe, seen the Electric Water Pagent and/or Wishes from the beach, have your kids ever gone to the Neverland Club? Thanks for any thoughts. It's great to have a positive review.

PS maybe we'll meet Auntie too, as my DS 8 is all about those hula lessons, she loves anything tropical.

Wishes is GREAT to see from the Poly!!! I heard they just installed new speakers also so you can hear the music. Grab a snack, drink or whatever... then a beach chair... get comfy and watch away!!! If you are there for any of the parties that they have at the MK, ie MNSSHP, MVMCP or Princess & Pirates... they do the perimeter fireworks around the park and it's INCREDIBLE!!!

The Electric Water Pagent also starts out at the Poly - I hear it's because it was originally designed for a show for the Poly and then expanded... You can look it up on You Tube - they have both the new and the old to catch.

YOU WILL LOVE THE POLY!!! You'll never want to leave. It's SO nice. I've stayed there and also the Grand Floridian and I love both, but the Poly is just so more relaxed. I just love it.

Add my thanks for the wonderful TR! I bit the bullet and blew my vacation budget to stay at the Poly in '08 (well, not blew, but there's definitely some overtime in my future)! It's TR's like yours that make the time go by a little more pleasantly!

Did you try to get any of the discounts like AAA or in your case... CAA? You have to be a member, but the price of the membership can be made up with the discounts if available...

I saved several hundred dollars... it covered the amount of the tax if nothing else...

Yuppers, CAA saved me $300 over the 6 nights - basically pays for all my meals! 202 more days to go

We were at POR last week (just DH and I for anniversary) and went over to POLY to ask to see a room since we were coming back in a week or so and I thought I could not get any more excited. . .I pray we get our room request as we are a family of 6 and the extra space in Toukelou will be soooo appreciated. Sounds like mousekeeping was excellent!

So glad the magic was alive and well for all of you! Thanks again for sharing!
